Bottle 50 cl, Alko Loimaa. Pours pitch black with a fluffy light brown head leaving lace. Aroma is very pleasant; sweet, malty, roasted, spicy, eartht and bready. Velvety malty mouthfeel. Flavor is balanced between the sweet, maltu, roasted and bitter with tones of caramel, dark fruuts and raisins. Finishes sweet, roasted and bitter all in balance.

Considering the 7 %, it could’ve had a stronger taste... But regardless of that it’s a good porter.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2011 Pours a clear, deep reddish-black with a short tan head that lasts and leaves moderate lace. Malty nose with cocoa and licorice all through this moderately sweet porter. Dark roast malt, cocoa, tea, dates, ripe plums and molasses all present. Medium carbonation, medium-light bodied. Sweetish finish with a faint resinous hops aftertaste.Balance is quite good, better than other Baltic Porters I’ve had.

Bottle from Alko. Originally rated on 8.4.2010. Okay baltic porter with notes of roasted malts, caramel and slightly hops.

Russian beer. Not a good porter. Way to thin on the palate. Burnt in taste.

Pretty much black with a little red glow shining through. Smells roasty, coffee, wort, hay and iron. Tastes like deep chocolate. Mouthfeel is close to perfection.

Odd sour scent when the bottle was first opened. Luckily the scent quickly dissipated. Nice porter.

Black, though not completely opaque. In light a slight red glow is visible. About 1 cm beide head disappearing fast. Smell wort, coffee, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Light bitterness. Pretty complex taste all things considered. Taste is good, carbo ok, body medium to full.
