3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle, bought in Greece. Poured into a snifter at home. ABV 7%
Black colour on the body, with a tall and thick beige head. Very good retention, leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma of sweet chocolate at first, reveals much more as it starts to warm up a bit. Roasted malts appear now, pleasant hints of alcohol, faint vanilla.
Great taste. Chocolate at first with a touch of sweetness, gives very fast its place to roasted malts and coffee, along with a touch of alcohol. All those contribute to a nice mild bitter finish, with good duration.
Medium thick body and low carbonation. Quite dry palate.
Overall an excellent porter

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong molasses and dark chocolate aromas from a beautiful crystal clear garnet and brown body with a light tan head. The flavor tracks the aroma with even more chocolate and a light creaminess. Thereís a great roasted malt component thatís just charred enough to add a dryness to the flavor without being burnt or charcoal-like. The body is spot on for a porter, not to thick and not too thin. Thereís a light licorice taste that emerges and gets stronger in the finish. Lasting tastes of dark chocolate and coffee linger and make you want to take another sip. This is a top notch porter and beer all around.

Bottle. Pours black in colour, with a foamy beige head that leaves alittle lacing and aroma of roast malt, toffee, chocolate, dark fruits, yeast. Taste is sweetish malt with caramel, chocolate, coffee, raisin fruity notes and some biscuity bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, some residual sweetness through to a warming dry roasted bittter finish. Quite drinkable porter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. I wasnít expecting much from this based on other Baltika beers Iíve had, but this one is decent. Very dark thick pour with a frothy off white head. Roasty with dark chocolate on the nose and taste. Medium to medium-heavy palate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle from Hampton Falls Village Market. Nice dark pour with thin white head on an English pint glass. Nose is chocolate malt, molasses and charred malt. Taste is dry roast, notes of coffee, bitter chocolate with a finish that lingers a moderate duration. Body is a tad on the thin side but thatís not being negative. Really easy to drink and is decent for the style.

A decent porter. A bit too sweet for my taste, but with a nice thick Russian touch.

Bottle at World of Beer, Savannah. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, toast, caramel, earth and milk chocolate powder. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, toast, caramel, ash, earth, light lactose notes and milk chocolate with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice bitter-sweet balance. Decent stuff.
