4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2015 "Must try beer", even if you are not a fan of the monster brew companies. Very complex, almost black. The only one beer with the taste of the sea and that is exactly the taste of some north sea. Let us say: Baltic Sea. Also: sophisticated leather taste. Very special and very different . CUIR DE RUSSIE.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"full flavored, roasted, slightly sweet aroma. the slightly higher abv lends a nice, full body to this very tasty brew. recommended for a porter with a kick."

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 500ml bottle served in a thumbler glass.
Bottled in December, 8th 2013. Best before the same date, 2014.
A: Pours a dark brown color forming a creamy but quite aired beige head. Medium to low retention and some molasses lacings left in the glass
S: Strong notes of chocolate malts and roasted malts. Notes of dark chocolate, dark fruits and wood. Very bready and biscuity. Blindfolded, I would say that’s a Schwarzbier
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong roastiness. Notes of dark chocolate, chocolate malts, wood, caramel and vanilla. Light bitterness. A mix of roasted and hippy bitterness. Alcohol is perfectly hidden
M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Roasty and woody aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Smooth and pleasant Porter

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.5L bottle. Pours black with a big, tan head. Aromas are fairly mild: bread, cereal grain and chocolat.e. Flavor is fairly sweet, with lots of chocolate and some roasted malt coming through. Finishes with some roasted malt bitterness, but sweetness remains. Medium-full body with a slick mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, some nice malt character, but fairly unidimensional flavorwise.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A beer with potential, but the experience is destroyed by the artificial additive sweeteners the Baltika brewery use.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown-black coloured. Like the rest of Baltic-Beverage holding’s breweries’ beer it is sweet and rather unclean. Less full bodied than most Baltic porters. Big raisin flavour.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from local Eastern European shop. Opaque dark brown, no head. Aroma is faintly roasty, faintly lactic, and a hint of the sea. Those notes are carried through on flavour, but body is a little thin.
(re-rating this as when I entered this earlier today it didn’t save my points settings so gave a false total of 0.5)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Cola colored with a thick fluffy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit and a little marshmallow. Taste adds some roasted malt and a little lactic sweetness. Thin creamy mouthfeel. Very good.
