COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2014 500ml bottle. Deep black with small light brown head. Coffee and liquor aroma. Rich taste, goes down well despite it being 7%. A decent beer.

Classic Baltic porter with a creamy, beige head and full black colour; aroma caramel malts, coffee grounds, some molasses and dark fruits, taste very malty, chocolatey, slick mouthfeel, toasted bitterness filling the mouth. Don’t know if this is Russia’s best beer, but it would come as no surprise to me.

The best mass-product beer in Russia. This proves Baltica can produce great beer, but instead manufactures insipid lagers one after another :( As for beer itself, I would call it a model of baltic porter: very full bodied, coffee and chocolate aroma, mix of sweetness and bitterness. Just great. NOTE: be careful, three bottles can easily knock you out.

50cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a medium off-white head with low retention. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Bittersweet taste. Chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, some red wine, spices and dark fruits. A more then decent dark brew.

Totally black in color. Small brown head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Taste reminds kvas and porter beer at once. Amazing mix. Resfreshing beer. Body is medium or even light (not common thing for porter), but this makes it distinguished among the others. Bittersweet aftertaste. Recommend.

Review: Bottle of Baltika 6 Porter 7%ABV Baltika Porter, a decent 7% Baltic porter from Russia with a good drinkability rating, is a traditional dark beer based on old recipes and was designed and launched in production in 1994. It’s a very smooth and pleasant porter considering the ABV. As you would expect for a porter on pour you get a pitch black appearance with a very good creamy head that settles to a tanish colour, but doesn’t linger too long. Aroma is sweet and strong smelling, of strong notes of dark chocolate malts and roasted malts. An inviting aroma. The taste is quite surprising as I would have not associated Russia with decent porter, but this was not the worst stout I ever had. I actually enjoyed drinking it. The taste is of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt, not overwhelming and not a strong bitter tasting stout. In fact it had a little sweet taste upfront, with only light bitterness afterwards, well balanced. It was very smooth and very enjoyable to drink. Will be looking out for this one again in the future. Recommended, but be careful it is strong despite how smooth it goes down!

Bottle. Dark brown color with large disappearing head. Nice aroma of bread, wine, plume. Taste is bitter-sweet, full-bodied. Aftertaste is bitter with nice notes of dry fruits. Very good beer. Baltika, why it's so difficult to find in Russia?!

Bottle to porter glass. Aroma is herbal and like some kind of green plant. Taste is mostly roasted malt with hop balance. Finish is decent. Good carbonation. Very different from European and American porters. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle@home. Head: bubbly beige. Colour: clear, ruby brown. Aroma: vague roasted malt. Taste: medium bitter-sweet. Palate: refreshing, medium bitter-sweet finish, moderate CO2. Overall: quite different from the English origin.
