bottle, pours a very dark brown/black with big khaki head, nose is malty coffee and almond, flavor is very much coffee and dark fruits with a nice vanilla extract finish

Bottle. Dark beer with a big creamy tan head. Aroma isn’t much - some malt and maybe some chocolate. Rich chocolate malt flavor that lingers. Body is just a little light - but not bad. Alcohol just makes a presence. Very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Rich black beer with frothy thick lasting tan head. Lots of toasted malt and molasses, very masculine aromas. Soft, caressing mouthfeel like a sincere kiss. Lingering flavors of caramelized walnuts, balsamic, and Turkish coffee. Quite pleasant, but more muscle than it needs.

Opaque black with a medium sized tan creamy head with some nice lacing on the glass. Malty sweet, dark fruits, lightly roasted aroma. Sweet chocolate and roast, burnt notes. Watery mouthfeel. This had good potential.

Served with a straw at our favorite place in Bishkek, but only available one night. Tasty sweetish and complex porter, better than we expected. Seek this one out as a better alternative to the others.

Sampled at From The Vine monthly beer tasting Oct 13th, 2003: Clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Light aroma of coffee and malt. Medium body with a mild roasted coffee/malt flavor and a lightly bitter finish. Not bad but nothing memorable about this one.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2005 (Bottled) Very dark red color with medium, beige, lacy head. Burned-malty, slightly sweet but equally roasty aroma with a hint of licorice. Sweetish, very roasted-malty, dark chocolate flavor with coffee and anise hints. Medium to full-bodied, syrupy, velvety, soft-carbonated palate. A very nice, well-balanced, high-quality porter - delicious! Something between Sinebrychoff Porter and Ayinger Celebrator.
