COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Best before 28.04.07. Pours ebony into a stem glass. Mocha micro head looks like wheat pancake batter as it slowly recedes. Slight plum aromas. Creamy with rum soaked raisins and chocolate. Turns sour in the finish.

Bottle. Black on the pour with a lively, quick head - good amount of carbonation. Not a terribly thick beer despite the dark color. My first beer of this type (Baltic Porter). Taste is much like that of Baltika 4. Sweet, roasted caramel malts with a fair amount of bitterness at the finish.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2006 a black beer with a medium sized creamy tan head. weak roasted aroma with more of a lager scent with some alcohol. flavor is dry and bitter with some roasted coffee notes. body and flavor are light. some alcohol shows up in the finish. o.k. but I prefer the sweeter more robust versions.

Bottle thanks to my neo-geo.com secret santa Kiselgof. Dark brown with red hints, two fingers of tan head. Fruity roasty aroma, caramel and chocolate. Taste is delicious chocolate and coffee with a lightly bitter finish.

Dark brown with red highlights and a nice tan head. Aroma is very sweet with vanilla, roasted notes, and wood. Flavor is dark fruit, coffee, bourbon, and chocolate. Feel is thick, powdery, and pleasant. Having been disappointed by some of this brewers other offerings, I find this to be a unique and quality beer.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, with a fizzy light tan head. Dark malt, light chocolate, a bit of fruit, roast, iron rust, and earth. Mouthfeel is very bubbly and the carbonation is rough. Decent.
