3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NachlamSie (2077) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 4, 2005
bottle. Pours black with an even light tan head. Noticeable alcohol in the nose, but it blends quite well with the very sweet roastiness which has a strangely vinous quality. Really dense caramel malts give this a scotch ale quality. There’s a bit of coffee too, but it’s like old stale coffee. The sweet foundation is the most prominent thing and does well to balance any bitterness in this brew.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bitbucket (2072) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - AUG 6, 2006
Bottled. Pours a blackish brown with a diminishing brown head. Aroma is spicy, with a bit of chocolate. The body is medium, creamy with moderate carbonation. The taste is sweet, with roasty malt, prunes, chocolate and nuts leading to a spicy, lightly bitter finish. A surprisingly big beer for a porter. (An Imperial Baltic Porter?)

Bottle, Manas AB Kyrgystan. Strong and full of flavor. This is a good beer with a nice roasty/smoke malt flavor and fairly strong bitterness. Worth seeking out.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Eructoblaster (2043) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 22, 2007
Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thick beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee and dark chocolate hints. Taste is very well balanced. It carries these same chocolate and coffeeish notes as the aroma, hides the alcohol pretty well, and ends with a decent bittersweet, warming finish. This is probably the only product from Baltika that deserves any attention.
