COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Bottle brought back for me from Kazakhstan. Very dark, coffee coloured foam head. Aroma is rich and roasty with banana. Flavour is sweet and slightly roasty, clean tasting and rather bitter.

Bottle (GBBF): Black with a beige head. Choco, caramel and mild roast. Sweet choco and mild roast flavours. Medium bodied, nice.

[bottle] Roasty and nutty sherry aroma with bread crust and a little liquorice. Nearly opaque dark red-brown under a lasting, beige cover. Potent bread crust and sherry flavour, more like a German dunkles bier than a porter. Sweetness is a harmonious marriage of nuts and ethanol. Liquorice notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation, sweet finish.

I’m pretty sure I bought this bottle for $1.99, so that alone is worth a few points in the rating... black pour and generous foamy tan head, though it doesn’t last very long. Roasty coffee/caramel aromas with hint of chocolate. More of the same on the palate with a little bit of hops kicking in. A little sweet, perhaps, but a very solid beer. Definitely a good deal.

Good looking beer. Pretty tasty, if a litttle light on flavor for a porter. Chocolatey malts, short finish. Not bad at all.

[Bottle] Pours a very dark shade of brown. Fizzy head makes it look like cola. Dusty aroma of cocoa and roasted malts. The taste is of chocolate, watery coffee, roasted malts and a decent amount of hops. Nice and roasty overall, but the thin body kind of ruined it a bit for me.

The current rating fits this beer pretty well. Overall better then a lot of beers, but lacks in the style. Body is thin and uneventful. Notes of chocolate, roasted malts, and licorice.
