COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Ahhh, nothing like beer for breakfast.I just recieved this from Wawood brought back from his trip to Russia. What a great guy for remembering me.Anyhoo here i go.Nice dark black color with a 1 inch thick foamy dark tan head, that lasts for quite awhile.Roasted malt aroma mildly sweet and a slight hint of banana.Sweet malt taste, mildly fruity with a nice hop presence and the alcohol comes through in a very gentle way nothing over powering. The after taste is malty with a pretty decent hop bitterness that lasts quite awhile. The feel in the mouth is kind of heavy at first then it seems to change to a much lighter feel.the alcohol doesn't make a real strong presence for itself but IMO thats good because i think it would definately detract from the taste and over all complexity of the brew. This is certainly the best Russian brew i've had so far Thanks Wawood.

More like a doppelbock than a standard porter. Malty, raisiny sweet aroma. Dark reddish brown color. Head is initially thick but mostly diminishing. Some coffee flavors are present but malt sweetness dominates for the most part. Clean mouthfeel. Almost no hops until they come out in the finish. No complaints about that though. This was meant to be maltcentric and it works out wondefully.

Bottle poured near black with a creamy, rocky, mostly lasting head. (I had to hold it up to a halogen bulb to see traces of a blackberry hue.) Very nice lacing. Nose of molasses, prunes and autumn leaves. Burnt coffee/toffee flavor. Full-bodied. Slighlty oily mouthfeel. Mildly sweet finish with a ting of alcohol. Closer to a stout than a porter. I should’ve bought more!

nice black pour with a tan head. sugary maple syrup aroma. sweet caramel taste with some fig taste also. a nice touch of bitter is discerniable in the finish that has a grassy flavor. lingering fruity taste. coffee is noticeable as it warms along with a prune note. enjoyable brew, probably my favorite from baltika.

500ml bottle, best by September 9th, 2007 - oops. Based on previous Baltika experience, I can’t imagine it will matter much. Very dark brown with a big, foamy, light brown head. Big, sweet malt nose, molasses and a wisp of smoke. Rather dry, flavors are charcoal and raisin with a pop of anise, burnt malt is evident. Body is the thin side of medium. Decent lace. Far better than expected.

Bottle- Deep cola brown with a frothy mocha cap that laces well. Nose of coffee beans, vanilla, dark rum, dark chocolate, a bit of molasses. Tastes pretty sweet, of roasty malts, burnt toast, bittering hops, a bit woody. Has a bit of a metallic edge that detracts from the flavour a bit but thankfully it is only minor. Sweet malty finish, with roasty bitter aftertaste. Overall very good.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Törökbálint- Cora shops: Russian shop of Arbat. Dark brown body with a small creamy, delicious beige-light brown head. Aroma of coffe, caramel, dark fruits. Smooth mouthfeel, complex flavor with chocolate, roasted malt, coffe, some caramel. Pleasant aftertaste of roasted malt and coffe. Tasty, like it.
