COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2006 Pour is black with a tinge of red on the edges. The head was a frothy cream that disipated quickly leaving decent lacing on the glass. The aroma was bitter chocolate. The taste and mouth feel were nice. Bitter chocolate, caramel, raisin, with a very smooth feel. Quite nice. 8/4/7/4/17

RERATE: Pitch black pour with a creamy mocha head and beautiful cream lacing down the glass. The aroma is mild chocolate and roast. A little sweet. The flavor is more complex then I remember with notes of caramel, peanut butter, sugar, roasted malt. There is something about this beers flavor that makes it stand out. And its a very beautiful beer to behold.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin mocha head, with some lacing, over a dark, slightly reddish (SRM 36) clear body....nose is coffee, chocolate, molasses....taste is sweet malts caramel, toffee, then molasses, finishing with slight roasted bitterness....mouth feel is light and a bit watery, carbonation is medium. This is somewhat lighter in aroma and flavors than expected, and the mouth feel is a little light.

Pours black with off-white head. Arouma of dark malts and some prune. Very smooth and creamy body with nice fizzy carbonation (palate is probably the best part of this beer). Roasty malts, licorice and hint of bitter at the end. Surprisingly good and sweet.

Bottle from Alko. Dark brown with a tan foamy head. Aroma of dark fruit, roasted malt, caramel and some coffee and chocolate. About the same in the balanced taste. This one was a descent Baltic Porter.

April 2006 - Wow...I was really liking this. Beer poured dark, dark brown with red highlights, large head with decent lacing. Aroma was odd...didn’t smell like a porter at all. Smelled rather like a hoppy amber or something along those lines. Flavor didn’t match smell (thankfully). Wonderfully smooth chocolatey taste with some molasses mixed in...perfect amount of sweetness. It reminded of a good glass of chocolate milk. Excellent.
