A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Bottle: dark brown, with light red-brown edges. . . A creamy chocolate-milk head. Nutty chocolate alcohol aroma with hints of milk, wood and clay. A good amount of creamy alcohol on the tongue. . . A mix of bitter cocoa, almonds and some sweet soft pears finish off a very plesant beer, though not as complex as some other baltic porters.

Deep, dark brown/black color, frothy but firm dark tan head. Aroma of dark roasty malt, some cocoa. Dark roasty flavor, followed by some chocolate and some creamy milkiness. Big round body, very smooth. Delicious. Thanks frielock for sharing.

daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2003
Dark brown appearance with some red shining through below a bubbly tan head. Banana bread in the nose with some candyish brown sugar notes. A hint of cherry is also evident among a sweet roasty malt aroma. The body is smooth and quite sweet with malt. Alcohol kicks in in the middle but is covered up by a light hop bitterness behind a sweet, roasty malt backbone. A hint of iron in the end is disheartening, but other than that, a nice baltic, belonging in this terrific style.

23/12 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! It poured dark body with medium brown head. Weak, but nice coffee aroma. Roasted malt, especially coffee, raisins and other dried fruit make its flavor. Caramel and maybe some chocolate also felt. Only a little bit sweet, it’s very balanced and fine. Medium bodied beer that has nice long finish reflecting the flavor. Alcohol is very well hidden. A quality, well made (baltic) porter.

Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, body with a thick, creamy brown head. The aroma has the obvious chocolate and coffee notes, but with nice quantities of anise and dark fruit. Ripe cherries, raisins, plums, apples, and a slew of others are immeadiately evident. Very smooth and easy to drink. The flavors are not quite as pleasant as the nose might lead one to think. Chocolate and coffee, some of the fruit, the alcohol is a little harsher than I might like. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be buying this often.
