COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Served from a bottle from BevMo. The appearance is a coffee brown with a small off white head. The aromas are sweet candy, residual sugars, black jelly beans. The flavors enter with a nothingness. It grows to a roasted coffee bean, roasted grain, hard candy thing. The brew fills in more as you drink it. More intense flavors. The mouth is thin and hallow with too much carbonation. This grew on me some.

Dark brown with a big brown head. Aroma of malt and something I don't recognize. Flavor is slightly burnt and tootsie roll like.

Nearly black with a medium tan head, this product has a sweet malty aroma with distinct hoppiness. Taste is roasty with bitter cherries. Not bad. $2/16oz

nice dark pour with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma is raisin fruitiness, chocolate malts and some caramel sweetness as well. Flavour is quite sweet and sticky. Alc stands out with a boiled raisins and weak nutty and coffee tones. very light burnt malt bitterness towards the finish but not enough to cut through the sweetness. Not horrible, and once you get used to the sweetness it’s drinkable enough. Just a bit

Dirty dark brown-black with tan ring. Aroma is milk chocolate, roasted coffee and malts. Flavor is almost cloyingly sweet...but layered with molasses, dark brown sugar, milk chocolate and weak coffee. Drying finish.

color is a deep deep brown, no light gets through though. head is tan, and bubbly. aroma is fairly roasty, but more smoky. but the smokiness is not overpowering and is quite complementary. chocolate is there, but VERY subdued. flavor is virtually the same, smokiness, mild roast, mild chocolate, light alcohol, bold flavor...damn good if you ask me.

brownish balck, beige head. fruit, cady, winy, coffee aroma. very smooth flavour and mouthfeel. finishes with a quick hop burst leading into chocolate and roast.

[Tasted in 2003 at Risky-Finn.] My first russian beer at a little bad surprise. I had expectations, but at first it looked good, but the aroma was too sweet. Then the flavor went to sweet licorice and with at thin body with medium bitterness . Not good for a porter.
