4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 blank (997) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 30, 2003
From the Sharp Edge European Beerfest: This a very impressive baltic porter. One of the better finds at the beer fest. Reminded me of a fine stout from time to time. A wonderfly complex russian beer.

The first sip is all raisins and garbage. It really mellows after the first sip or so, and some coffee and chocolate come out, but there’s nothing very special here. Sort of reminds me of my first Guinness Foreign Stout.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 estpiwo (985) - ESTONIA - MAR 9, 2010
Bottle. Very dark brown color, creamy brown head. Coffee aroma. Bitter chocolate flavor, some coffee, minimal malty tones. Not bad.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 FoolishMortal (980) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 4, 2006
500mL bottle. Deep ruby-brown color with a small dark tan head. Sweet and semi-sweet chocolate aroma, with some alefruit as well. Doughy, slightly raisin character with mild roastiness and old caramel. Residual chalky chocolate and some tangy fruit esters in the finish. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat thick.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 yesyouam (976) - Fairport, New York, USA - JAN 5, 2009
Baltika 6 Porter is a very dark red ale that borders on black. It has a dense, mocha colored head that thins out but stays and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is dark, roasty and sweet. There is a strong note of licorice. It is medium-full bodied, smooth and slick. The finish is a little sticky. It tastes sweet and roasty like the aroma. There are notes of caramel, chocolate-covered cherries and licorice. I like that this isn’t as sweet as some other Baltic porters. It’s balanced more toward a roasty bitterness. It’s a great example of the style. This is the best Russian beer I’ve had yet.

Bottle. Pours a midnight black with a deep, frothy tan head. The aroma is slightly fruity, with a strong shot of roasted espresso beans. It has a full mouthfeel and a fruity, sweet, molasses, vinous flavor characteristic. It has a warm, sweet finish. Awesome porter.
1.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 tomer (972) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - NOV 16, 2006
bottle. heard some good things about this beer. but tasting it was a "bitter" dissapointment. the bitterness did not let any flavour come out. aroma was non existent. aftertaste was agreeable.

Baltika kuutonen on musta olut vaalean ruskealla vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on karamellia, kahvia, paahtunutta mallasta, leipää ja soijaa. Oluen maku taasen on makea, karamellinen, paahteinen, hedelmäinen, siirappinen ja leipäinen. Suhteellisen liukas suutuntuma. Maukas porter. From Russia with love.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ringo (963) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - FEB 27, 2002
Pretty good, but not as good as I expected after enjoying Baltika #3. Not nearly as good as Okocim or Zywiec porters (although they are from a different country, the style is the same.) On the thin side for the type.
