A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Dark reddish brown colour with a little nice head. Strong aroma of roastedness and alcohol. Also flavour of soft maltness combined with roastedness and alcohol. Ends up very alcoholic and with a touch of chocolate.

Bottle. Black pour with thin white fizzy head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Sweet malty chocolate taste and sweet finish. Not much elses going on with this one, a fairly one dimensional beer.

In tallahassee you can buy this stuff extremly cheap so i never thought much of it. finally i decided to give it a try and found it a nice surprise. defiantly the best alcohol at its prive tier. anyway warm malt some roast produces a sweet thick taste on the tongue. some chocolate, does well to make this beer taste non alcoholic.

9/5/07 From the bottle. Aroma is dried fruit forward with caramel, toffee, and milk chocolate. Appearance is dark brown with a tan head. Flavor is fruity malt forward with notes of plum. Unfortunately, this is balanced with an objectionable tart and alcoholic note that mars these positives. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low texture and carb feel. Overall, this is not a bad beer, but it just has a weird finish.

I like the Baltic Porters that I have tried, so one named "Baltika" had high expectations. I was only slightly let down by this dark watery porter. Big anice and sweet malts were the main notes overall. There is an odd aftertaste, but it may be the same carboard/grainy hops used in some of the other Baltikas.

A bit overly sweet but otherwise a decent example of a porter. Head is decent, if not really large, and the aroma is reasonable and the color is nicely opaque. Not the best of its type, but an acceptable brew.

dark red-brown. sweet caramel aroma. taste is a touch on the sugary side with a butterscotch toffee character. some interesting fruit notes with a raisin and overripe plums. finish is stout-like with a lasting bitterness. quite good but the syrupy sweetness lets it down.
