Quite dark with a smooth tall khaki head. Fantastic earthy-molasses-dark-fruit aroma, with touches of vanilla, and toffee. Semi-sweet with a touch of roasted bitterness on the finish. Burnt malt lingers. Moderate body, not as full as I expected. Very enjoyable.

Oily brown, moderate quickly waning tan head. Raisiny, sweet, dark-bready aroma with hints of molasses. Quite appealling. Sweet, heavily malty flavor with some more molasses notes, chocolate truffle. Light, but just-right bitterness finishing this out. Perfect carbonation enhances the rich finish. Very enjoyable.

Definitely, one of the best Russian beers: a clean, flavorful and roasty bottom-fermented porter.

A classic Baltic Porter. Extremely well-balanced with a variety of sweet and malty flavors. Not too much bite from the alcohol. Incredibly, this is available for around $1.50 - $2/bottle. The other Baltika brews generally leave something to be desired... but #6 never lets me down.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reid (1385) - Salem,Oregon, Oregon, USA - MAR 7, 2004
Comes in a very attractive 500ml bottle, nice packaging.
Quite a handsome beer to look at deepest ,darkest garnet..nice tan head..that goes quite fast..leaves beautiful lacing down the glass.
The aroma is mostly of toasted malts..with a nice alcohol undertow.
Taste is sweet for a mega second after it hits the tongue..then a nice treacle like semi-bitterness..almost liquorice like..then a different bitter after taste ( hops?)..nice alcohol warming.
Very nice in the mouth, invigorating.
I found this to be a very drinkable Baltic..my favourite style after all.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 garrison (652) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - DEC 23, 2009
From a 16 ounce pint bottle given to me as a Hannukah/Xmas/Winter Solstice present from my girlfriend - This one poured a very dark brew with a small, tight bubbled tan tan head of foam and weighty liquid. Tastewise, it has definite raisin and alcohol flavorings over a passing malty coffee base.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beaver (874) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 10, 2007
16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a frothy brown head that quickly dissipates to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is sweet chocolate malts with a little bit of smoke and tar.
The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate with some dark fruits, smoke and a little coffee with a roasted bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, a nice surprise. This is a well done porter.
