Pours pitch black with brown head. Aroma is nice and of roasted carmel malt. This beer is very sweet but I guess that’s the style. Lots of carmel malt in this one. Doesn't taste of burnt malt like most porters... more like toasted malt. What I like a lot about this one is the mouthfeel- nice and round, silky smooth going down... Very little aftertaste though.

Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thick beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee and dark chocolate hints. Taste is very well balanced. It carries these same chocolate and coffeeish notes as the aroma, hides the alcohol pretty well, and ends with a decent bittersweet, warming finish. This is probably the only product from Baltika that deserves any attention.

Black pour, only lets hints of ruby show through good light. Huge light tan head. Aroma of dry chocolate and malts. Flavor is robust bitter chocolate, roasty malts, alcohol. Long bitter chocolate finish. Pretty decent brew.

A. Pours a dark mahogany with a beige head....holds nicely.
S. Aroma is not too strong, sweet, slightly woody, touch of smoke, and maybe dark fruit?
T. Tastes as it smells, I guess, light smoke finish, raisin, sweetness of molasses, roasted malt and dusty cocoa. Hmmm, hint of hops.
M. Smooth Porter...just the right mouthfeel, not too smoky or bitter, although those aren’t always bad things.
D. Very drinkable, first beer I had from Baltika, makes me want to try something else from them.
C. It’s a very nice Surprising beer that doesn’t try to be too much.

Pours dark deep brown with a big tan head. One of the more impressive head formations I have seen. Average chocolatey aroma. Taste is roasted malt, alcohol, raisins and a little watery. Good lacing. Better than I had anticipated.

Almost as black as can be, foam lost quickly. Sweet and fruity aroma was a surprise, somehow I waited this porter to have more bitter aroma. Very full body with fruity start. Fruitiness is cut nicely by convenient bitterness, not too dry like some "normal" porters, this is why I like this beer. Ends with warm palate and slightly sweet aftertaste. Very dimensional porter, reminds me little of our Finnish Sinebrychoff Porter.

Thick and rich black with a nice layer of creamy tan head. Aroma is mad malts, barley, and some raisins. Taste is more of the same, with some roastiness and dark fruits added. Begins bitter, then sweet, and rounds out to be nice and smooth at the finish. A bit more complexity and some bottle conditioning, and this beer would be perfect. Still very solid, especially considering $1.69 for a pint.

Dark black body with an off white head. Aroma has some cream, sugar and roasted malts. Flavor is sweet, dark malts, creamy coffee, molasses and sugar. Pretty smooth and easy to drink. Simple and flavorful.
