COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2010 Bottle. Near black with exciting beige head. Aromas of caramel, toast, chocolate, and yeast. Flavors of caramel, toast, chocolate, tobacco, raisin, cherry, and yeasty spice. Medium body with slick mouthfeel and moderate/low carbonation. Sweet but not too sticky. Picked up 16.9oz bottle for $1.75. Cheap for a world-class beer.

Bottle. Very dark ruby pour with a creamy beige head that lasts a while. Slightly sweet aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and licorice. Flavour is just about the same but with a hint of coffee as well. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a slightly sweet finish balanced by some late bitterness. Alcohol is noticeable but not offputting. Overall a very nice Baltic porter, leaning more towards the sweet side but very pleasant nonetheless.

nice, light-warm-brown head. Opaque black chocolate color. Aroma is sweet chocolate and coffee with what I think is more lager character than most Baltics, this could be because it has a less intense malt character to mask that. Tastes a bit like milk on the first sip/impression- I don’t know what gives it that characteristic. Medium body. moderate prickly carbonation. a nice grassy/floral dry roast finish. Good, not superb like many bp’s are.

07-FEB-2012, bottle @home, from "Superbest". Pours clear, dark brown with lasting beige head. Nose is caramel and malty roasted chocolate with a strange - perhaps unclean note of...of...I am not sure - perhaps wet rye bread? So perhaps not unclean, anyway. Taste is malty, coca cola, chocolate, and cinnamon. Some roast. Turns very watery in the middle, but an OK length with roastedness. No real bitterness. OK brew.

1 pint bottle. Poured a dark brown, nearly black, with a thick, relatively short lived, light brown head. Aroma of brown sugar, hickory, malt, alcohol, and peaches. Smooth mouthfeel with a distinctive coffee bitterness. Accents of brown sugar prevalent with malt, red apple, and peaches subtly hinting. I also get a distinct wheatgrass aftertaste. Truly an interesting Russian porter with more than a few levels of flavor.

Pours black with off-white head. Arouma of dark malts and some prune. Very smooth and creamy body with nice fizzy carbonation (palate is probably the best part of this beer). Roasty malts, licorice and hint of bitter at the end. Surprisingly good and sweet.

Baltika no. 6 Porter Beer has a pretty thick, khaki-colored head and a dark, ruby appearance with lots of lacing. The aroma, while faint, does give one a whiff of dark cherries and alcohol before it dissipates. Taste is of dark-roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark coffee, black cherries, and it has a bitter back taste and smokey after taste. Mouthfeel is medium, and Baltika no. 6 Porter Beer finishes refreshing and pleasant. Overall, this is a smooth and very nice beer. RJT
