1 pint .9fl oz Bottle: Pours deep brown w/ a nice brown head. Aroma is dominated by sweet malts w/ some caramel peeking through & a bit of grain. Flavor is heavy on the roasted malts. A bit on the sweet-side up front then a nice bitter bite. Caramel & burnt coffee w/ a little nip of alcohol present. Nice & smooth, me likey.

Bottle from Arbat Russian shop in Prague (www.russianshop.cz). It is a clear, very deep amber in appearance with a loose, sandy head that lasts longer (in a clean glass) than I was led to expect. Port and sherry notes in the nose, with figs and drying fruit in the foreground; a touch of toasty malt in the back. In the mouth, more figs and dried fruits with a cinnamon-spicy element; a second sip brings out dusty cocoa notes. Surprisingly good: I’m very glad I have another five bottles in the Gimp Room. Bring on Old Man Winter!

Smells of black malt an almost burnt sugar aroma. The beer is black brown in color its large bubbled medium sized head is a light brown. A bit sweet and bitter hints of coffee. Good not exciting and that is how a porter is supposed to taste. The alcohol does let you know its there, not that that is a bad thing

Bottle. Poured into a tulip. Pours a cola brown with a large head that recedes quickly. Aroma is of prune and raisin. Maybe even some grape. The most notable flavor is concord grape. Hops are slightly evident. Light body. Medium carbonation. A good deal. Only $2.29 for a 16.9oz at Bevmo

Got this from Russian grocery shop in Berlin. Pours almost black, very dark no light coming thru. Develops creamy thick. beige head. Aroma coffee, chocolate, roast malt, paper. Taste is sweet no too much, there some vanilla hints, probably sweet malt. Just checked the ABV: 7%... Well in that case really balanced, no alcohol after taste almost at all. The finish is sweet with glimpse of dryness in the short finish. Mostly its malty. Carbonation is crispy
