COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

bottle 04.04.06. pours black...dry malt, molasses and vanilla aromas. flavor is super rich and creamy, almost milk stout like. big molasses flavor and a strangely pleasing rye bread sourness. it has a nice bitterness and nutty/woody aftertastes. don’t know if the sour is the secret ingredient or if the bottle is skunked. i’ll have to drink more and conduct some tests back at the lab...

Pours pitch black with a beautiful tan head. As you bring the glass to your nose, essences of dark chocolate and malts come forth. The taste matches the aroma - dark chocolaty goodness mixed with a hint of caramel. The beginning delivers some sweetness, but this is soon smoothly overtaken by a hoppy, dry, rum-like finish. The medium body supports the flavors well without being too thick.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Aromas of butterscotch, caramel, treacle toffee and soy sauce. Warm, inviting flavours of coffee, chocolate, demerara sugar and a little smoke. Very smooth indeed. Sweet, dry finish.Very tasty indeed. By jove this one went down very well amongst the lager heads in my back bar! Deservedly so too as this was a fine brew. It’s a shame there’s not more Baltic porters available over here.

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights. The sweet chocolate and toffee flavors are well balanced with hops. No lingering flavors.

.5L bottle. Dark brown hue with a small, tanned, creamy head and nice lacing. Reach aroma of dark fruit, chocolate malt and molasses. Full, creamy, slightly tangy body. A lot of dark fruit, bread, chocolate malt and molasses on the palate. Long, port like finish. Great, easy drinking porter. Love it.

Appearance: A dark brown, possibly black color. Very opaque. No way of seeing through this one. Not much head, but I was trying to avoid it. Smell: Sweet and malty. No hops to speak of, but a very pleasing molasses aroma accompanies the malt. Taste: Molasses suspicions have been confirmed. It’s sweet and caramel-y and not at all bitter. A slight toasty taste, but hidden behind the sweetness. Mouthfeel: Full-bodied, very smooth. Chewy and satisfying. Drinkability: Good, but I probably wouldn’t have a whole lot in one sitting just because of the very strong flavors. That being said, I think it’s delicious.

Head long lasting; slightly brownish. Faint coffee and caramel aromas. Night-colored appearance; only a reddish glow peaks through when brought in front of a light. Notes of chocolate and dark rum. Subtle interplay on the palate, invoking an excellent balance and finish.
