COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Got the bottle. Pretty much like Danish porters (stick to pilseners guys!) and crap.

Pours out to a tremendous tawny head and very dark brown color. Aroma is smoky, roasty and malty. Flavor is a lagery, steely-clean yet roasty mix with a mocha finish. Mouthfeel is medium-full and creamy. Very good porter.

Drink cool (10-12°C) Eye: pours a dark brown almost black (coke-like) colour. nice carbonation. Nose: Coffee, dark chocolate, dark dried fruits, spices and licorice. Mouth: roasted nuts and malts, dark chocolate, toffee, herbs, pepper, dark dried fruit such as plums and prunes, cranberry, raisins, red grapes, dryed and ripe banana. just a hitn of smoke. Palate: roasted nuts and malts, dark chocolate, coffee is fading away. just a bit metallic in the end. Overall: don’t drink this beer to cold, the taste won’t come out as it should. very complex beer with just the right amount of alcohol. really like it!

Looks good but foamy head goes away without lacing, has a thin mouthfeel, and no bitter aftertaste. A good porter to get someone interested in the style since it is very harmless and cheap.

This is a great buy. A very drinkable porter. Great for those hot days when you want a dark beer but need to quench your thirst.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2014 500ml bottle. Deep black with small light brown head. Coffee and liquor aroma. Rich taste, goes down well despite it being 7%. A decent beer.

Alengrin (1743) - BELGIUM - JUL 25, 2014
Classic Baltic porter with a creamy, beige head and full black colour; aroma caramel malts, coffee grounds, some molasses and dark fruits, taste very malty, chocolatey, slick mouthfeel, toasted bitterness filling the mouth. Don’t know if this is Russia’s best beer, but it would come as no surprise to me.

The best mass-product beer in Russia. This proves Baltica can produce great beer, but instead manufactures insipid lagers one after another :( As for beer itself, I would call it a model of baltic porter: very full bodied, coffee and chocolate aroma, mix of sweetness and bitterness. Just great. NOTE: be careful, three bottles can easily knock you out.
