Looks good but foamy head goes away without lacing, has a thin mouthfeel, and no bitter aftertaste. A good porter to get someone interested in the style since it is very harmless and cheap.

This is a great buy. A very drinkable porter. Great for those hot days when you want a dark beer but need to quench your thirst.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Classic Baltic porter with a creamy, beige head and full black colour; aroma caramel malts, coffee grounds, some molasses and dark fruits, taste very malty, chocolatey, slick mouthfeel, toasted bitterness filling the mouth. Don’t know if this is Russia’s best beer, but it would come as no surprise to me.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The best mass-product beer in Russia. This proves Baltica can produce great beer, but instead manufactures insipid lagers one after another :( As for beer itself, I would call it a model of baltic porter: very full bodied, coffee and chocolate aroma, mix of sweetness and bitterness. Just great.
NOTE: be careful, three bottles can easily knock you out.

50cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a medium off-white head with low retention. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Bittersweet taste. Chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, some red wine, spices and dark fruits. A more then decent dark brew.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Totally black in color. Small brown head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Taste reminds kvas and porter beer at once. Amazing mix. Resfreshing beer. Body is medium or even light (not common thing for porter), but this makes it distinguished among the others. Bittersweet aftertaste. Recommend.

Review: Bottle of Baltika 6 Porter 7%ABV
Baltika Porter, a decent 7% Baltic porter from Russia with a good drinkability rating, is a traditional dark beer based on old recipes and was designed and launched in production in 1994. It’s a very smooth and pleasant porter considering the ABV.
As you would expect for a porter on pour you get a pitch black appearance with a very good creamy head that settles to a tanish colour, but doesn’t linger too long.
Aroma is sweet and strong smelling, of strong notes of dark chocolate malts and roasted malts. An inviting aroma.
The taste is quite surprising as I would have not associated Russia with decent porter, but this was not the worst stout I ever had. I actually enjoyed drinking it. The taste is of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt, not overwhelming and not a strong bitter tasting stout. In fact it had a little sweet taste upfront, with only light bitterness afterwards, well balanced. It was very smooth and very enjoyable to drink. Will be looking out for this one again in the future. Recommended, but be careful it is strong despite how smooth it goes down!
