2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
More like a commercial American lager than anything else. Everyone else I was with raved over this, it is very easy to drink, but lacks flavor. I recommend the porter, it’s light years ahead.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I have an inch that only Baltika can scratch! Now, mind you, these are in a can; the only way to enjoy a Baltika brew. A label on the can reads "Premium Ale, crafted with the finest ingredients, is brewed to meet the standards of the most discerning ale enthusiasts." I thought we’re dealing with a lager here. Someone needs to get their shit straight.
Appearance: Pours a yellow body with a small, fizzy, white head. Splotchy, sporadic lacing throughout.
Smell: Much like the Baltika 5 which I’m enjoying side-by-side, it’s a sweet-smelling aroma with light florals.
Taste: Pale malts with a medium sweetness -- a far cry less sweet than the previous Baltika 5. One drop of clover honey. Very, very slight sour grain taste. Touch of spicy, floral hops along wtih an equally light bitterness. Semi-sweet finish that, like the #5, gets a touch watery near the end.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: Just another simple European lager. Similar to the #5, except with a dialed down sweetness.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very pale yellow color with small, bit creamy and soapy white head. Finally head is only flimsy ace. Sweet malty and slightly fruity aroma contains a bit toffee also. Mild flavor is sweet corny malty with slight alcoholic finish. Light-bodied, oily and slightly alcoholic palate.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Alcohol and cornish/brewing cereal aroma. Flavour is cornish, light bitterhoppy and again with an alcohol presence. Bitterhoppy finish with a lingering cornish sweetness.

In the 0.5L green bottle from HyVee CB. These Baltika beers keep on amazing me with their competency at an absurd price. I drank the 7 on a very hot saturday afternoon after having cleaned out the air conditioner heat exchanger. Now, most any beer would have seemed refreshing under such circumstances, but this lager has its own merits. Light golden in color with a bountiful white head, this has an initial slight sulfurous/slightly skunky aroma that whafts away rapidly leaving only a grassy and straw like scent. The beer is smooth and drinks very fast. This has a mild carbonation and just a subtle enough malty backbone to leave no doubt as to its premium status. Not as rich or hoppy as its German counterparts, this nonetheless spanks the Belgian/South African owned "US" macros.
