2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In the 0.5L green bottle from HyVee CB. These Baltika beers keep on amazing me with their competency at an absurd price. I drank the 7 on a very hot saturday afternoon after having cleaned out the air conditioner heat exchanger. Now, most any beer would have seemed refreshing under such circumstances, but this lager has its own merits. Light golden in color with a bountiful white head, this has an initial slight sulfurous/slightly skunky aroma that whafts away rapidly leaving only a grassy and straw like scent. The beer is smooth and drinks very fast. This has a mild carbonation and just a subtle enough malty backbone to leave no doubt as to its premium status. Not as rich or hoppy as its German counterparts, this nonetheless spanks the Belgian/South African owned "US" macros.

Golden color, moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Grain aroma, sweet pale malts. Pretty sloppy but not terribad.

2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
16.9 oz. bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, best by 4/6/09. Clear straw color with a medium head. Aroma is so skunky it caused minor gagging. Beyond all that are notes of grass and maybe grain. Very sweet, grainy taste with some caramel notes. Taste is vastly better than the aroma. Medium bodied.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
22 oz Bottle poured to glass. A sharp aroma of grassy hops and a very light toasted malt, bread like smell. A ever slight haze to the yellow brew. Average head. Light bodied and a bit dry.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
16oz bottle from BevMo La Mesa. A tad better than your standard domestic pale lager. Lightly hopped nose with a clean and refreshing finish.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Been working my way through the beer cellar trying to drink beers that might have low shelf life at 55 degrees. This was there, and poured a light yellow with small white head and little lacing. Nose of light malts and a touch of hops. Light mouthfeel. Flavor was mild. Drinkable, but not by much.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a nice pale yellow with a fluffy, yet quickly disappearing, white head. Very light on the nose with a slight yeasty quality. Watery on the palate with a surprising malt backbone. Finishes a touch sweet. Definitely not the worst beer I have had recently.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer is a little better than their export hell #2. It has a little more punch and hoppy bitterness with aftertaste of grain. There was a faint skunkiness in the nose but nothing approaching some other famous beers. Once again, like other Baltika products, nothing great but not bad either.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Poured from a .5L bottle into a frosty mug, big foamy head... taste is a bit on the grassy / metallic side with an overly sugary-sweet aftertaste, just glad I didn’t buy the 5L mini-keg. Definitely not the worst beer I’ve had... Cheers!
