1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can. Straw color with a small white head. Light grainy aroma. Light body with thin texture. Light sweet flavor with a short finish. Moist air in Cincy has more character.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle, brewed 11-25-05, so still quite fresh. Pale yellow, but not too fizzy, OK head. Sweet grain aroma. Very, very litttle flavor, a bit of grain, faint sweetness, touch of corn, and a bit of dust. I think that little flavor may have been a blessing this time.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottled. Pours a very pale yellow color. Aroma is quite skunked. Flavor is bitter grain and skunky. Skunky metallic aftertaste. Garbage.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. White medium sized head that was mostly lasting, various sized bubbles, poor lacing, transparent, carbonated, and a yellow hue. Nose was malty and some corn. Flavor was malty and harsh and just unpleasant. Tingly palate.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml green bottle from BevMo. Pours clear and golden with a small white head that diminishes quickly to a thin skin of bubbles. Aroma is of hay, sweet malty notes, floral hops and a bit of skunkiness. Flavor is sweet with a corn and rice cereal grain character, nice floral hop bite and a slight spiciness in the finish. Light body and crisp, assertive carbonation. A little too sweet and adjuncty for me. I think I’ll save the rest of this one for cooking.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and straw yellow in color. Its aroma contained notes of musty acidic malt . Its mouth feel is initially tingly with a lingering tingly crisp palate and a clean malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained malty hoppy notes. A very average brew.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light gold color with a white head. The aroma is carrots and potatoes. There is also some black chocolate. The taste is light carrots with a metallic hint. There is also some sweet glazed donuts. Another decent lager from Baltika.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
can - hey look, more lightly flavored water. Seriously, I’ve had well water with far more taste than this beer. It’s not offensive. It goes down easy. It’ll get you drunk eventually. It’s just hardly there.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
(500 ml bottle: $1.79 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Oh my word, this is like drinking a Light beer. The flavor is so light, it’s hard to find the taste offensive. I’m more offended that something with so little flavor could actually be considered beer. Truly, take an American Light beer, add sugar, and dilute it to half strength and you have Baltika 7. Wow. The lightly grainy flavor is quite sweet and sugary, and with absolutely no hops to add any crispness, the finish is almostly cloyingly sweet after a few more sips, and is now leaving a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. Okay, now I find this beer’s flavor offensive! Very light body to start and the finish is downright watery. The aroma is grainy and of course very sweet too. Pale straw color shows perfect clarity, revealing the many streams of carbonation bubbles rising through the body. The white head pours to an inch in height, settling back to a thin, filmy layer within a few minutes. A good amount of patchy lacing is left on the glass, though that too dissipates for the most part. An ice-cold bottle of this beer might not be too bad after mowing the lawn on an oppressively hot and sweltering summer day, but alas, the sweetness is just too much, so it’s not even good for quenching thirst. About the only positive thing I can say about this beer is that it looks okay, and it’s not skunky. But no question, this is a total drain pour. And I can no longer fight the overpowering urge to go brush my teeth and swish some Listerine.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Yellow, ok white head. Aroma from hay and grass, rather hoppy. Hoppy flavor with some alcohol. Mild finish.
