The beer after its extraction from the 500ml green bottle resides in my glass a luminous gold with a diminutive frothy white head that evaporates quickly leaving a thin cover of lace upon the glass. Nose is archetypal lager sweet malt that is fresh, crisp and clean, with the start slightly sweet and the grain presence adequate but a bit light, top is fair to middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is pleasantly spicy as far as the hops go acidity moderate and the aftertaste desert bone dry, a passable beer, but nothing to get excited about.

canned; from Rutzicka - pours a very pale yellow colour and shows a nice white head; fat grassy and shy nose, a buttery touch, oily with a moderate malt body, sweet with a light herbal finish - lacks terribly of character

Pour is light golden yellow with a big white quick fading head...huge skunky nose that filled the room immediately after opening the bottle, but faded nicely into a perfume scent...small sweetness throughout with a mild bitter finish...not very good...

stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2005
pours a pale golden with a large white head, the aroma is of malts and a little skunky smelling, the taste had some sweetness to it but mostly malt flavor, its an average or slightly less than beer.

TChrome (1439) - Bedford, Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2005
Beer pours pale golden with a better than average, for a pale lager, egg white head. Aroma is very mildly hoppy with the pedominant aroma being skunked. Flavor is a bit better. A bit of grainy maltiness comes through as does some hop bitterness. Not worth driving any distance to acquire, but worth a rating.

Jedsbrew (465) - Rhineland, Missouri, USA - JUL 8, 2005
Golden color, slightly paler than the Baltika 2 that I just sampled, durable sudsy head and some lacing. Aroma: some maltiness tried to peek through the skunky perfume but it didn’t really work out. Seemed to be a fair amount of malt in the flavor and was a little boozy and sugar sweet, all in all crude and regretable from a brewer that can make some fairly good brew.

Bottled. Light hoppy aroma. Pale golden color, irregular white head, few lace. Light bitter, light malty, crisp and clean, light bodied.

Very pale yellow. Sweet corn nose. Nice large white head. for some reason, I am giving this higher marks then it deserves. I probably won’t revisit this one.

Poura a pale yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is corny and a bit sour. Flavor isn’t too bad; mostly sweet maltiness but no hops whatsoever. Finishes bland and kinda stale.

If this beer posses a unique taste, my taste buds must be blind. Then can kind of reminds me of some pre soviet soup tins I’ve come across on ebay. I wish BallTikla made more porters and less lagers
