A strong lager beer with a taste close to classic lager varieties. The flavor is light and there is a suggestion of malt, together with sweetish notes and mild hops bitterness.
Ingredients: water, light barley malt, maltose syrup and hops.
Produced since 1998. 16.5°

Farlig.

Bottle at home in Mytishchi. Pours clear amber, nose is sweet toffee, caramel, taste is similar. Was probably actually not very good but couldn’t complain for 20p a bottle!

Bottle from Rasputin’s, Ipswich. Pours a light golden colour, with an off-white head. Subtle hoppy, grassy aroma, accompanied with a strong alcoholic kick. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Oily texture, syrupy alcholic finish. Not for me but no doubt serves a purpose.

Tasted years ago as Baltika 9 Extra, bottle from a night shop. Medium, snow white head over a clear, pale golden blonde beer. Grainy and corny aroma, soapy, alcoholic; sweetish taste, adjuncts, grainy with a certain sourishness, metallic, bitterish finish more so because of alcohol than because of hops. Alcoholics’ fuel like most Eastern European pale strong lagers, but not even the worst in its style.

It has a very pale colour, barely yellow and white soft head. Although this is not an exceptional pilsner it is quite better than otther industrial beers.

At least this one has some flavour to give it some character, unlike the other two I had last night. Still an easy drinker which I guess is a plus at 8%
