A malt liquor that masks the alcohol very well. Slightly sweet with a hint of bitterness. Everything about it was average, except for mouthfeel, which was rather like having cotton in your mouth...go figrue that one out, I haven’t. Put this in a 40 and market it as a high-class malt liquor import, which it is...

Yellow color of a European lager, but very sugary sweet betraying the high alcohol of this one. Colt 45 on steroids.

Looks and smells like a lager. sweet fruit cocktail aftertaste hides the alcohol very well. At $1.79 a 500ml bottle it’s a great value.

Very pale almost straw clear with a medium to small white head that still manages to generate some interesting lace. Faint corn syrup, fruity hops and some alcohol aroma showing through to warm the ears. The palate is surprisingly soft almost a flat sweet soft drink but it still manages to hide the highish ABV quite well. Apart from a lolly sweet flavour I think I glimpsed a touch of hops as well. Finish and aftertaste are also mild and sweetish. The ’Temnoe’ is maybe just a touch better.

Very blond with a small head. Some soft hop and alcohol aroma. Smooth sweet slightly hopish taste. The alcohol is there but is surprisingly well covered in such a fairly flavourless beer.

Theres not much to this malt. It doesn’t taste bad you just taste the alcohol and with a 8%abv a few of these it doesn’t matter what it taste like.

Only faint malty and hoppy aroma. Alocoholic, bit bitter and herbal. Thin for such a high alocohol lager. The dark Baltika beers are much better.

strange stuff. doesn’t taste like ’normal’ beer - sort of like someone took some old english 800 and added some malt and honey - but it’s better than that. distinct sweet-alcoholic flavor. moderately thick body - hardly any bitterness. not much of a nose. all in all inoffensive and easy to drink - if a bit of an odd-ball. mainly bought it because I’d never had a real russian beer before - worth giving a shot.

Sort of a honey flavored Olde English 800! The alcohol was well hidden behind some overly sweet honeylike taste. I imagine the ghetto liquor store in Moscow having rows of this in the cooler.
