Carbonated malt vodka, no thanks. Alcohol flavor dominates completely and removes all feel of beer.

0,5l bottle from Alko. Pours clear golden with a low head. Aroma is malts and alcohol. Flavor is sweet malts with plenty of alcohol. Awful.

Bottle @ Porterhouse Dublin. Is that sauerkraut, anise, and corn syrup all in one quaff?

Head that lingers. Aroma of grapes and basil, Golden malt flavor. Some sugary mouthfeel, but quite dry for the percentage.

16.9 fl oz / 500mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cold. Aroma: Faint cereals, especially corn. Not a lot of malt. Slightly acidic. Some sweetbread. Appearance: Transparent bright yellow; no head. Taste: White bread. Sweet corn. Nothing else. Points for being non-offensive, lack of points for being horribly dull. Palate: There and then gone. Not persistent, light-medium body. Overall: I don’t understand how Baltika can make amazing beers like the 6 and 8 but then make mediocre beers like the 2, 5, especially the 7, and the 9. :( not impressed at all. You can’t make a bland, flat beer with 8% abv and expect it to be amazing; that’s not how it works. Beers need depth and character. Baltika 9 lacks both.

500 ml bottle.
Pours a clear pale yellow colour with a white head. Aroma of very sweet and pungent sweetness and some grains. Flavour of strong grainy malts, alcohol, very sweet caramel and strong alcohol notes. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a dry, sticky, sweet, malty, grainy finish. Alcohol comes through a lot. Won’t drink this again.

Bottle. This is a straight up malt liquor. Green apple, sugar. No appreciable hop character. Good for a buzz.

Appearance: Golden with a white head. Aroma: Mild grass with a bit of skunk. Flavor: Light malt and alcohol. Palate: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall: A Russian malt liquor. Just say nyet.

On the nose I detected the faint scent of Hobo. The beer had only two flavors, alcohol and water. This beer pretty much sucked on all fronts except one. I am a soldier who just got into the kygyck republic and this is what they serve us. It is almost 9% so it helps to get you drunk. Avoid this disgrace if you have the chance.

50 cl. bottle procured in that quaint (in the same way as all of these kinds of stores are) Russian/East-European store behind the library. Brown bottle was a bit odd considering the colour of the others when this one didn’t pour all too dark. Also don’t really see much if any Russian on.the label – it is hard to read the text – is this meant for export or? Bottled on 29.11.2012. Pours a bright, ligher shade darker golden with little synthetic head. Smells of malt and caramel syrup and additives cover a light, cheap industrial vodka-style alcohol coming through, pure cheap alcohol, citrus and cheap malts. Taste is sweet malty syrup / caramel additives attempting to cover an industrial strength lager, cheap alcohol is all over the place here, medicinal style, cleaning agent, dark sugar, cheap malts, highly processed grains, solvent, citrus. Light with a touch of syrup here. This is some serious industrial swill they tried masking here, harsh bro.
