A strong lager beer with a taste close to classic lager varieties. The flavor is light and there is a suggestion of malt, together with sweetish notes and mild hops bitterness.
Ingredients: water, light barley malt, maltose syrup and hops.

Pretty much of a honey sweet corn aroma. Sturdy white head that left slight lacing. Bright gold color. Medium bodied, fizzy, almost creamy carbonation. Itís corny sweet, maybe a touch of honey. Instant heat. The hops must have gotten lost. Thereís a light astringency, but the finish is not really dry. After awhile I can imagine there might have been some hop bitter.

1.5L bottle (Little Russian booze shop, Tallinn)
Rich straw colour, brief head. First tasting, very little aroma at all. Fleeting taste of unbleached cardboard, then massive, and I mean utterly massive, wave of fruity esters - peach and apple. Then the booze comes over, almost vodka-ey in its direction and potency. Once that subsides, the cardboardís back again, alas. Finish is a mixture of the tastes. Didnít finish the bottle (well, would you?), so revisited the next morning. More aroma, but still rather nondescript. Esters are less outrageously prominent, and not quite so cardboardy or boozy either (recently brushed my teeth, though). Per style, this is pretty competent, but itís not the most delicate style under the sun, thatís for sure. The 5 for taste might be overly generous, but there really is plenty of beery taste in it, and itís not that rough at all, but the 7 overall is there to counter that generosity, as, hedonistically, itís not something Iíd go out of my way to drink (but it’s not bad, don’t get me wrong). If youíre gonna get wasted, this bottleís a good choice.

Bottle. Light amber hue with a medium white head that diminished quickly. Small aroma. Light to medium body. Small flavor with sweet malt with a small alcohol bite at the finish. Below average beer and malt liquor.

How funny -- I go all this time without rating a malt liquor, and the first one I happen to try isn't one of the Americans, but a Russian one. Crystal clear straw body with large white foam. Aroma is grainy, sweet, alcohol, light herbal. Taste is medium sweet, grainy, finishing alcohol and light herbal. Undercarbonated mouthfeel, fairly light body for 8%.

Week head, bitter flavour, and a surprice citrus-finish. I was positively surpriced of this beer.

Only faint malty and hoppy aroma. Alocoholic, bit bitter and herbal. Thin for such a high alocohol lager. The dark Baltika beers are much better.
