Rune (1508), Tromsų, Norway Jun 24, 2008 500ml bottle shared with Finn enjoying the football match between Spain and Italy on TV. White, frothy head resting for a while on top of a clear, late straw coloured body. Moderate lacing on the glass. Mild aroma of grain and fruit. Sweet fruity taste with weight on overriped banana. Missing bitterness, only an alcohol tint to the ending. Rather cloying mouthfeel (thanks to Per Einar for bringing the bottle from Arkhangelsk to Tromsų, 22.06.2008).
yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy white head. Smooth and mild cornish aroma, not as offensive alcohol dense as I would have expected. Flavour is sweet and somewhat fruity towards artificial though. Mild spiced cornish and light caramel/biscuit malt presence, quite smooth and with alcohol rather well hidden yet present. Few sips are fine, whole bottle (which I by far couldn’t finish) would be cloying due to the building artificial sweetness and alcohol. blutt59 (624), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 16, 2008 bottle, golden yellow pour, nose of alcohol and yeasty, flavor is sweet and cloying with a dry sugary finish coldbrewky (484), Saugerties, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 To date this beer is the absolute best beer to attract and kill slugs with in your garden. After opening this monster last night the corn and rice and malt liquor tones made my head swim and not in a good way. This morning I awoke and checked the slug trap that I filled with the remainder of the .5L bottle. 57 slugs in one bowl. the stroh’s only averages 20-25. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 13, 2008 This beer is really not that bad if you can get past the nose, which has some hints of rotting vegetables and diesel fuel. The malt body is somewhat bland and generic, but really has no off flavors, sweet cereal maltiness, kind of grainy with some phenolic fruit notes. armando629 (379), Budapest, Hungary Aug 10, 2008 Golden body, small white head. Aroma is sweet bubble gum malt, liqueric. The flavor is sweet malt too with some raisins and fruits, very alcoholic. Moderated carbonation. Some bittery finish.
