blipp (556), Grand Island, New York, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours yellow with a white head. Light sweet malt aroma, some trace hops. Medium body. Lightly sweet flavor, not much else. Not that good.
Guinnessman (53), VACAVILLE, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Nice creamy head. Good flavor with a nice malty bite to it. Went really good with a chunk of Irish White Cheddar. MontereyJimbo (76), Monterey, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 I would have liked this a lot better if the taste was not overwhelmed by the alcohol content. But then I suppose the Northern Russia winters are conducive to drinking as much alcohol as you can get to keep warm. Beautiful clear color with a stiff full head. Very smooth Malt, slightly bitter. With an alcohol after taste. Slightly metallic sent.
Rune (1492), Tromsø, Norway Jun 24, 2008 500ml bottle shared with Finn enjoying the football match between Spain and Italy on TV. White, frothy head resting for a while on top of a clear, late straw coloured body. Moderate lacing on the glass. Mild aroma of grain and fruit. Sweet fruity taste with weight on overriped banana. Missing bitterness, only an alcohol tint to the ending. Rather cloying mouthfeel (thanks to Per Einar for bringing the bottle from Arkhangelsk to Tromsø, 22.06.2008). RunDWP (96), San Jose, California, USA Jun 23, 2008 Took a flyer on this bottle from BevMo. Slightly hoppy, malty aroma. Poured a golden yellow with a fizzy head that didn’t last long. The high alcohol content overpowered the sweetness, carmel, and grainy notes. Just didn’t work for me.
