2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Snegurochka (157) - Tromsø, - JUL 11, 2011
500ml bottle, from a kiosk at Lenin Street in Murmansk. Unusual both in regards to bottle and label design for Baltika. I like it, and also find the screw-top convenient. Unclear golden amber body, with small head that was reduced to a filmy layer. Malt and plum to the nose, with hints of tangerine. Too much carbonation, that makes it foamy and soapy. The aroma is definitely better than the taste. Tastes a bit like wet wool, nutmeg and honey. (Shared at our XIV Session 22.june 2011)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (6963) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 2, 2011
Pale golden cloudy pour with a tight white head. The aroma is quite nice - a bready sort of malt character with a fairly pronounced herbal hop aroma as well. Soft floral flavour with a nice balance of hops and malt. There is an unusual sort of light fruit contribution that lends a sort of melony flavour to the brew. There is a little bit of light bitterness, bit it’s quite an unusual brew. Decent stuff, really.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 13, 2011
Dull tan. Thin head. Stale caramel/chemical aroma. I admit I was expecting a more forward-thinking beer. Lightly spicy, also caramelly. Surprisingly bland. Yeah. There’s light haze but who cares? It’s just industrial crap.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 27, 2011
500ml screw top bottle kindly shared by Snegurochka. Unclear, golden-orange coloured body. Minimal, but lasting, white head. Pale malty nose. Lighter taste profile of pale malts and sweet fruits. A few bitter end drops. Mid-dry in the mouth. Mild and next to diluted. Possible to drink (rating session in Tromsø, 22.06.2011).
