Slightly hazy, golden beer poured from a 16.9 oz brown bottle, producing a modest and short-lived, sudsy white head. Aroma: light malt and hops with a slight skunkiness and a hint of honey. Tastes slightly sweet and floral, with a low level of hops compared to the malt. However, the malt dominates at the start, but the hops come out on top in the finish. Rather light and slightly watery body; carbonation is medium (very good); smooth; semi-dry. Overall: this beer is quite drinkable; I found this to be much better than Baltica’s #2 lager.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2013 Bottled, 500ml from The East European Shop, High St. Banbury. Pale gold with short lived white head. Heavily carbonated beer giving a musty, tinny note at the start, flowery beer burps, basmati type note in the background. Malty, sharp. It’s a Pale Lager nuff said.

1.75L bottle from my father in law. Wow, this is pretty gross. We used it as a chaser for Ghostface Killah. Kind of tastes like slimy garbage. Yep. Very sweet.

BlackHaddock (4875) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
Brown half litre bottle obtained from a Russian shop in Antwerp (Belgium). Best before 15th Oct 2010, drank 26th July 2010. Poured (three times) into one of my small Veltins Pilsner glasses. The beer is a mid-range pilsner/helles/lager golden yellow, the regular pure white foaming head appeared on each pour. Bright, clear and what you’d expect from a Helles Bier. The aroma was fairly sweet, and floral (sweetpea?). The initial taste was also on the sweet side, however a tinny/metallic taste came along in the aftertaste. The beer was more enjoyable when I was hot and the beer cold, but as I cooled and the beer warmed, my mood changed and I had trouble with the final sips.
