1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Sweeter than the typical pale lager, almost honey-like, which makes it more pleasant. Still not good though.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 Bottle ordered from Systembolaget in Strømstad, Sweden. Light yellow colour with a white head. Thin malty nose. Suppringsly light flavour, unusual russian lager. Light malty and moderate hoppy, some fruity notes.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pale gold, white head. Nose is weak malt and grains. The taste is unpleasantly fruity (mainly melons) plus malt, some sourness. No hops to speak of. Weird (and not in a good way) stuff.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I couldn’t wait to taste this as it is 4%. I was hoping for a rather mild beer drinken experience. No plastic bottle here, just a big 17 oz glass Well, first taste, is rather mild. The color of this stuff is typical pale lager and there is no head. Some aroma but mostly its just clean smelling. Easy drinking with very little of the ill effects that I am so used to with beers from this area of the country. Does not feel dated and the date code is 110311. Yes, overall a pretty decent beer that is rather refreshing. Co2 is refershing and sizzly also. Cost me $2.50 at vintage.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of malt and grassy hops. Light flavor of malt and hops with a light bitterness. Taste is really not much but the beer is easy to drink and thirst quenching.

Dull tan looks bad, but perhaps not "Zhigulyovskoe" bad. The aroma has only a hint of that classic funk. Light, relatively dry palate is a little bit off-dry. Not great, but not a disaster either. Does this really deserve the classic yellow label?

Bottle. Clear gold pour, thin white head. Grain, skunky, light grassy hops. Actually very clean and drinkable. It’s not good, but its better then I thought it would be.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
500ml bottle in a shaker. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of tin, pale malts, and almost non-existent hops. Pretty light. Not that great of a beer.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
bottle from a local Russian supermarket. Clear pale golden colour, mid-sized white head. Dusty hop aroma. Shy malt flavours, hints of dust and wet cardboard, some woody, harsh hops tune in.
