COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly contract brewed by Hepworth for Refresh UK. Brand now owned by LWC Drinks - current provenance unknown.
Bangla Beer - its colour...the golden hue of the sun setting over the Bay of Bengal. Bangla Beer - its taste...a rich full flavour with an extraordinarily smooth taste. Chamotkar!"

330ml bottle. The brewer is named as the Far East Beer Company, which is the Refresh UK group who are using the Burtonwood and Wychwood breweries at the moment. This is a lager brewed in the British style so that it almost comes across as a poor quality session bitter. Firmish body with some lingering plastic bitterness. Not great, but drinkable if you don't think about it too much.

660ml bottle with a meal in Hythe. Straw with a white head; sweet and perfumed, with a strong hint of corn. Went well with a Jalfrezi, but not something to drink by itself

heemer77 (5187) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUN 21, 2006
Dark gold body with a slightly yellow colored head. The aroma is grainy with soybeans and some light corn. There is also some grass. The taste is sweet with some oatmeal and nasty sweet corn. There is also some funky old rotting flowers. A strange beer. It is not skunked, but still tastes bad in some way. Wow, why did they have to sell this in larger sized bottles? Makes me wince and reminds me of some of the worse malt liquors I have tried.

660 ml bottle. Dark golden body with a decent off-white head. Moderate malty aroma. Flavor is refreshing and mild malty with some kind if unusually spiced bitterness. Noting really special, but absolutely drinkable.

0.66 l bottle at Vihreä Haltiatar, Jyväskylä. Golden-orange color. Toffeish, honeyish and fruity aroma with apricot, sharp alcohol and rotten egg. The flavor is toffeish and papery with apricot, sharp alcohol and low bitterness. Has the foul Hepworth house character.

Ugly label, ugly beer. Tastes like a cardboard strong european lager but without the 7% or so alcohol.

I must wear my glasses while out shopping, I must wear my glasses while out shopping. Write that 100 times you naughty boy! The temples of Dinajpur, the tea gardens of Sylhet and the rain forests of Sundarban are all in Bangladesh, but this beer hasn’t been anywhere near them. I am trying to drink round the world, this beer hasn’t helped. The truth is I quiet liked the beer (for a UK brewed lager). Brown 660ml bottle, best before 31 Mar 09, drank Feb 09. The normal pale golden yellow that all lager/pilsners/helles usually appear like. the same small white disappearing head and the same non-aroma most have too. Thin looking, as again some lagers tend to do. This beer however was a sweet version, not sickly, but even in the non-aroma there was a hint of something sweeter than normal. It had flavour too, nothing huge, just a presence and a bodyfeel over and above your regular Curry cooling lager, maybe the 5.2% alcohol helped? Even though I was disappointed to discover it came from Hepworth’s I enjoyed the beer.

Aroma is grainy with some apple in it. Clear, golden coloured with not much head (white). Some hops in it, some apple. Kind-a dirty taste. Ugly dry cardboard palate. What a crap.
