Cask gravity at the Watford Beer Festival 2014. Poured a very dark brown, with a rocky, off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit and biscuit. Smooth palate. Dried fruit, spice and burnt malt in the flavour. Finish was brown bread, dark malt and straw.

Cask @ Belfast Beer Festival [141114]
Dark caramel brown, tan beige head, good lacing
Aroma of fairly burnt roasted malts, soft earthy roast
Taste of roasted malts, some dark sweet malt underneath, soft coffee grounds, touch of savoury yeast, good flavour for abv
Palate - Medium light body, good palate. Finish of toasty bread, quite bitter roast
Overall - Usually like less roast in a mild but this was decent

Cask@GBBF 2014, London (13/08/2014) - dark pour with a beige head. Subtle toasty malty, dark dried fruit, nutty and chocolate (combined like liquid Cadbury’s fruit and nut) very subtle, smooth and well balanced, loved this.

Aroma: average toasted malts, some bread. Appearance: clear black, average off-white frothy head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light body, flat carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: nice taste, but aroma is weird with palate being very flat. Pint at GBBF 2014, Kensington.

Cask Kings Head Carlisle. Lovely subtle roast aroma, smooth chocolatey flavour, with a pleasant creamy finish with late fruit. Impressed.

Tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow on the 31st January 2014. Cask, hand pump dispense. Dull ruby black in colour with a thick pale buff head. Decent aroma of roast malt and black coffee evident. Thin oily mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Dark malts give a maltloaf base with thin notes of roast grain, black coffee, liquorice and drinking chocolate present in the mouth. Earthy damp flavours present in the hops but aftertaste is short lived. Malt present in the finish with chicory and burnt cocoa evident in the palate. A good unassuming session Mild and recommended.

Aroma of dark roasted malts. Flavour is similar. Full flavoured but just a tad thin.
