Cask@Market Porter, London (backlog). Golden colour, not too much head. Aroma is fruity, floral, bready and mildly nectary notes. Flavour is floral, bready, caramelly and also has some wooden notes. More a golden ale than a bitter imho.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
First tasted at the Fox & Hounds, Houston in May 2002. Cask ,handpump dispense. Pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Lingering citric note in the long aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a zingy lemon peel note which is balanced with noticeable pale malt undertones. Aromatic hop resins give a dry bitter aftertaste and compliment the sweet malt well. Good bitter sweet finish. Reminiscent of Pendle Witches Brew? Really good summer session ale this.

Cask at the Robin Hood in Rainow, Macclesfield. Hazy orange gold with medium white head. Aroma of hops, herbs. Flavour is hoppy and fruity, tangerine jam a bit like a Jaffa cake. Unusual but pleasant sat in the sun on my 1st wedding anniversary. Toast, cheers!

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Cask at Thomsonís Bar. A golden ale with small head retention. The nose is of pale malt but fruity. The taste is of more pale malty, but the hops and malt seem to be conpeting. The palate is light to medium and again wishy-washy. The overall impression is of the kind of wishy-washy ale that had me running back to lager in the past.
