Slight sweaty socks in the aroma but with some decent malt and hops underneath. I get the feeling I have said that before about a Bank Top beer. Nice hoppy flavour and something I can only describe as a fresh towel after a shower. Ok, maybe I’m loosing my marbles a little. Bready malt finish with some eventual bitterness. Typical run of the mill northern bitter. Svesse (1920), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 11, 2006 (Cask at Crown, Stockport, 29 July) Colour is golden amber with a frothy white head. Nose is fruity with lemon and a grassy hop aroma. Taste is fruity with lemon, grapefruit and a grassy hoppiness in the long, rather dry, finish. Very refreshing. SuIIy (1124), W Newton, Massachusetts, USA May 5, 2006 1/2 Pint at NERAX 06. Pours a nice golden color with a small white foamy head. Nose is lightly hoppy, quite faint. Taste is lots of hops with a great bitter touch to it that is not overdone but enough to give the palate a bit of a sting. A light sweet malt and caramel presence here and there. Laverda (15), England Apr 5, 2006 Good standard traditional ’Northern Bitter’,great session beer.Cask@The Crown,Stockport.
