Launched: 1961
Banks Beer, the beer of Barbados, is a premium pilsner style lager with a smooth, fresh aroma and a medium alcohol content. Banks is brewed from a pure classic blend of 2-Row British and Australian malted barleys deliciously flavored by Yakima Clusters and the noble Styrian Goldings aroma hops. It is however Barbados’ water, naturally filtered through limestone rock, along with our own special strain of yeast, which give Banks Beer its unique Bajan character and distinctive quality. Consistently the #1 choice among beer drinkers in Barbados since it was first produced in 1961.

A pretty bland pale lager. Not much in the way of taste, it’s a bit sweep and mildly malty along with grassy and grain flavours. Doubt I will bother again.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Sean. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A sweet malty nose, rice. Smooth sweet malty flavors, honey, grains, dry rice. Good really. Simple.

Bottle in Tesco. Light, some soap and vegetables, corny, watery palate. New country ticked off and a beer to never have to drink again.

Pours a clear gold colour, with a very small head. Aroma notes include corn, toasted bread, bread, sweet malts also. Tasting notes includes lots of sweet malts, tannins, some caramel in there. It finishes much lighter than it starts, albeit with a crisp bite at the end. Not bad, would probably taste better fresh.

The beer starts malty, slightly grainy. Crisp and not too sweet. The mainpart is fullbodied, slightly grainy and a bit metallic till the end. The aftertaste is slightly bitter, malty-grainy and a bit bitter-metallic. --> not bad, drinkable, but nothing great! --> 6/12/5/6
