UPDATED: SEP 26, 2013 Nose is light, coffee, a little cola. Taste is vanilla, hazelnut, figs, slight lactose, sticky sweet slightly vinious finish. As it warmed it got a strong coffee liqueur taste. Mouthfeel far too thin for the style, perhaps suited to warmer climes. A thin stout.

Stallion Stout has an extremely thick, beige head, an opaque, black-brown appearance, a few visible bubbles, and some lacing along the side of the glass. The aroma is of rich, sweet, creamy, medium-to-dark-roasted malt, dark fruit, licorice, and black coffee. Taste is of those elements, with cafe-au-lait, chocolate powder, and mild hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Stallion Stout finishes semi-dry, powdery, and ultra-drinkable. RJT

A deep black stout appearance makes it appealing from the start, and while the malted and roasted aroma isnít as strong as it can be on other stouts, you can instantly tell what it is. A very sweet taste with the subtle roasted hints means this beer is very easy to drink, and quite appealing if you arenít one for heavy stouts.

Bottle at home from BM Bargains Watford. 89p special for a Barbados coutry tick. Aroma is woody, lactose sweet, damp, and toasted coconut. Rich mahogany brown deep red colour with a lasting thin tan head. Flavouir is composed of weird mix of sweet lactose sugars and tangy sharp roast. A little sickly sweetness. Again more toasted coconut. Finish is fairly high FG.

275ml bottle @ the 5th Shrewsbury Bottle Share May 14, courtesy of blackhaddock. Considering this was a B&M bargain from Barbados of all places, I wasnít expecting much but this was surprisingly quite nice. Lots of milky chocolate, a decent sweet aroma with some creamy highland toffee nestled behind the malts. Pleasant, sweet, easy-drinking stout.

I took two 275ml bottles of this to the May meeting of the Shrewsbury Bottle Swap (along with some other stuff): 89 Pence each from B&M, bargains! BBD end of July 14, so a couple of months life left when opened. Half a bottle each, as there was only four of us on the night. Black with a good tanned head. The malts gave the beer a really fine chocolate flavour, the texture was milky and semi-sweet. Uncomplicated and easy to drink. Not sure what the hops did, as I did not notice any. Interestingly I was in Bridgetown (Barbados) in April and didnít see any of this, only to find it in a local cheap supermarket chain when back in the UK.

chocolate, nuts, roasted aroma, very dark brown murky body thick creamy head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, like drinking a full bodied bitter dark chocolate its actually really good for a 50p B&M beer!

Bottle from B&M, Chippenham. Brown-black with a swiftly diminishing tan head. Fruity berries up front with chocolate, developing through weak rum to finish with leather and tobacco. Very dry by the end, maybe too much so. Considering how stupidly cheap they were selling this itís pretty decent; just let down by a little hint of metal and minerals.
