3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 26/10/12. A golden coloured beer with a white head and lace. Decent hoppy notes with a bit of sweet berry. Doesn’t show off those lovely hops as you’d like especially in the nose, but there are some good flavours and it has a nice body. To be fair I drank this straight after the Adnams/Avery collab which was stunningly hoppy. This, I dare say, suffered for that.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Pleasant citrus on the nose, light bready malts. Medium sweet flavor with grapefruit, melon and orange. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild resinous finish with mellow pine, further grapefruit and orange. Nice IPA. Probably the best of this Spoon Fest.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Festival ale, half, at JDWs Liberty Bounds. Patchy surface with lots of dimples. Good lacing down the glass. Clear copper coloured body. Fine aroma of hoppy fruits and mid-sweet malts. Orange and pineapples in flavour with notes of semi-sweet malts. Marmalade impression. Bittersweet ending that lingers for a white. Nice (London, 03.11.2012).

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cat, feta, mango, blackcurrant, white grape, lemongrass aroma with bostin’ fresh hop. Thick, biscuit-drenched malt; hints of crystal overlaid with mango goodies; soapy peach and orange, privet, grass, aniseed. Banks’s are on a bit of a roll at the moment; if Marstons put this in all 46 (approx) of the pubs they own in Hinckley I might actually visit ONE OF THEM ONCE A YEAR. It’s that good. Delicious, if I’m being honest. Waves the Aussie/Wolverhampton flag with some panache.
