1. Keg Handpump at the Old Stable Inn, Weston super Mare 14/05/2002 Golden amber coloured and slightly bitter on the palate. Hoppy finish.

Bottle, small stable creamy head, clear deep golden to light copper, aroma of brown sugar and a touch of tobbaco, flavour of fruit and caramel with a strong bitterness, light long sweetish aftertaste. Easy to drink and quite good with food but not too exciting.

Amber in colour with a soapy white lasting lacy head. Smell of malt, caramel and soap. Creamy smooth full body. The pasturisation gives it a taste of soap. Once its gone it tastes much beter. Taste of caramel malt with a bitter hop finish. A decent bitter. Slight lingering paper on the finish.

500ml bottle. Clear pale amber colour with small creamy white head. Decent fruity aroma, a touch of cherry and citrus, dry hop note. Metallic taste, slightly sweet malty finish.

Appearance: Nice, clear brown. Some off-white head. Aroma: Malt, slightly roasted. Sweetness. Taste: More malt, nice and smooth. Slight bitterness. Info: 500ml bottle, 8/4-2012, BB: 31/3-2013

UPDATED: APR 16, 2012 Bottled. A classic brown coloured beer with a whitish head. Has asulphuric and obviously pasteurised leafy nose, together with sweet caramel notes. Earthy, leafy and old fashioned in the mouth but actually quite drinkable. Acceptable especially at a quid. Score 3.0

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, rich gold with a strong, foamy white head. Toasty dough in the nose. Light sweet flavor, more toasty dough, light metal, light dry leaves. Light bodied with fine, sharp carbonation. Crisp finish, lightly sweet, yet more toasty dough and metal bite, light pine and leaves, faint fruit and very light caramel. Extremely basic and lacks strong character. The highest possible praise for this bitter is that it’s not offensive.

Bottle. pours clear dark amber with lots of fizz. honey and caramel aroma, bitter, grainy taste. Watery, light body, lively carbonation and abrupt finish. Mediocre.

Bottle. Brown and white. Watery. A really tame and ordinary bitter. Nothing to report.

[Dad shared a bottle with me - cheers!] Amber, negligible head, with a horrible thin, very prickly fizz dominating the watery mouthfeel. Flavourwise, there’s caramel to the fore, slight citrus & floral hints, and a moderate mineral bitterness to finish. Ruined by the carbonation; presumably better on cask. 6/167
