Golden pour. Slim white head. Painted lacing. Big malt and a flowery hop aroma. Bitter hop taste. Nice malt backbone. Very nice pint.

Cask at JDW Bishop Vesey; golden amber pour with thin white head, slight fruit aroma, malt and fruit taste a bit meh this one.

Pint at Weatherspoons in Arbroath. I felt this was pale and tasteless. The distinct lack of hoppiness was disappointing. I’ve had worse beers (Budweiser, Tennants), but I was very disappointed in this as a real ale.

Light golden, frothy thin white head
Aroma of almost nothing, slight fruit
Taste of soft pale light sweet fruity malts, getting a hint of fruit tea, sweet cereals, hint of peach, light floral hops
Palate - thin body, little oily. Finish as main flavour, smooth, that slight hint of fruit tea again
Overall - Average stuff

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Hazy gold with a white head. Aromas are cereal and peanuts with lemon rind and some floral notes. Flavours are crisp grain with bitter lemon. Yeasty with citrus rind and a light peppery palate. Dry on the finish. Better than i expected.

Cask at Tanners Hall JDW, Darlington. Clear golden colour, white head leaving lots of lacing and slight malty & citrus aroma. Malt and grain taste with a citrus hoppy bitterness through to the finish. Light bodied, medium carbonation. Quite OK.

Sir John Oldcastle Spoons. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Light palate, semi dry, fine carbonation. Light fresh pale malt with very light orange citrus. Subtle floral note and a whisper of lemon. Light semi dry finish. Not bad.
