(Cask at Kitty’s, 20140602) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had toffee, grass, earth and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were toffee, earth, malts, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had toffee and bitterness. Too harsh brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On cask at the Standing Order.
Appearance - golden orange with a decent head.
Nose - a bit elusive but some citrus and definitely some cereal as it suggests.
Taste - plenty more cereal but a good amount of lemon that clears the palate.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - imminently drinkable even if it doesn’t hit the high notes.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pint at Weatherspoons in Arbroath. I felt this was pale and tasteless. The distinct lack of hoppiness was disappointing. I’ve had worse beers (Budweiser, Tennants), but I was very disappointed in this as a real ale.
