COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Spaniard Best Bitter emulates the flavour and character found in the very best English bitters. A hint of roasted malt gives the beer a warm coppery glow, with a deep rich taste that lingers on the palate. The use of premium Nelson hops ensures a balanced bitterness able to quench all raging thirsts! At 5%, it is stronger than most of today’s English bitters.

Brown in colour with no head, No aroma of any note. Hints of rasin but burried deep in sulphourous tatse. Dissapointing after discovering this beer from new South Island brewer.

Tasted 2006. No aroma, clear amber bronze. Poured with a thin head but fades quickly. Served warmer to give this a chance but doesn’t develop. Not overly flawed (well perhaps a touch) but just has no redeeming charactistics

It’s a nice copper color and the head is small. The aroma is sourish, leading my thoughts in the infected beer direction, but I became pretty convinced that it’s supposed to be like this in both aroma and flavour, even if it’s not becoming. I also find notes of caramel and towards the finish a nice and unexpected touch of roasted malt with notes of licorice. The bitterness is way to modest.

Very little aroma , slight acidic notes. Big burnt astringant flavours on the pallet, hints of acetaldehyde. . Highly flawed. oh dear. very disapointing after searching out this brewery.

Deep orange with a fizzy white head. Little aroma except for a hint of horse blanket, or is that Wild Spaniel? Body is slightly sour and thin with a bitter astringent finish. Quite disappointing.

What a great surprise! Found these three "Wild Spaniard" brews in the supermarket in Lake Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand. This pours clear red-brown with a thin head. Prominent sweet toffee nose. Faintly smoky, nutty, and a little thin. Not a very bitter finish at all, but not bad.
