Pours copper with an off white head. Smells earthy and caramelly with some peppery splashes. Tastes of earth, tea, some bitter hints, grassy.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 VTHopHead (1387) - Barre, Vermont, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Draft - Poured a darkish amber in color with a small white head. Aroma is just a bit hoppy with some malts in the background. Flavor was disappointingly weak... some hops, some malts, some yeast... nothing distinct. Below average...
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shadey (1628) - Rochester, New York, USA - SEP 16, 2009
On tap at the brewery. A simple American pale ale that is straight forward in its design and flavor profile. I’m not wowed, but I’m not bored either. Like so many beers that I tried this week, it was easy to drink - but it didn’t necessarily excite beer beer-nerd side.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ruggedman (643) - Portland, Maine, USA - OCT 5, 2008
Purchased in a bomber at Global Bev in Ellsworth.
Not the shining star or Bar Harbor brewing. I know there’s always pressure to have an American Pale, but their mild ale was really good. To me this is a let down from their previously high standards.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BelgianBeerGal (2215) - Dayton Area, Ohio, USA - SEP 26, 2008
Bottle at the brewery that was from a case the owner actually bought back from a store just to have a few bottles in the store. A really nice pale ale that was not overly hopped. Easy drinking.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kkearn (1163) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 26, 2008
22oz bottle, purchased at the brewery. Labeled "Brew#16". Part of a 50 case limited release. Pours brownish amber, topped with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel malt and hops that give a both citric and earthy character. Flavor begins with malt at first, which quickly yields to the hops. Piney hops coat the palate, but do not overwhelm. Background flavors include grass, citrus, menthol, and nuts. Hops linger for a long finish. Nice pale ale.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Imaena (259) - Portland, Maine, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Bottle @ Brewery. This is a limited 50 case run at the brewwery store. Pour was an amber gold and the nose has citrusy hops running through it. Sour annd funky in the finish. The bitter ing hops were higher than in there other offering. I believe they said the bulk of the greenery was casacde. Not overly impressed. If you are a pale ale fanatic give the brewery a call and have a case shipped. Or drive to Maine.
