SeamusNeko (45), Anacostia, Washington DC, USA Apr 29, 2004 Equipment: 22 oz bottle served chilled in a Trois Pistoles goblet.
Appearance: Dark dark black with brown highlights that poured out a bit like some used motor oil. A light brown head formed and stuck around for a few sips before it decided to settle down to a small layer of thick and creamy foam.
Aroma: Rich roasted malts, prunes, and coffee aromas are quite prominent. Mild vanilla notes. Damn fine. Damn Damn fine.
Flavor: Chocolatey sweet roasted malts with vanilla aftertastes. In-farking-credible.
Palate: Earthy and robust, yet still silky smooth. Soothing.
Overall: Um... who do I have to kill to get some more of this? Must I bow down to Ba’Haaabah and sacrifice goats? I want a case of this, and I want it yesterday. Only bested by Oak Barrel Stout, IMHO, but it was a close match.
Other: Went great with some dark Belgian chocolate.
MaltOMeal (387), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Dec 16, 2008 bomber thanks to mcox90. I had been wanting one of these for awhile. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Nose is of chocolate and became smoky as it warmed up. Taste was of chocolate and roast malt. Mouthfeel was medium and dry with a slight bitterness. Very nice. Gregis (967), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Dec 14, 2008 Bomber shared by theisti at a Chiefs tailgate. Pours a deep opaque brown with a creamy light tan head. Milk chocolate, roasted malt and a lactose note are on the nose. It does not smell like a dry stout. Light to medium-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is of chocolaty, dry, roasted malt. Pretty nice. Thanks for sharing this with us, Tim. decaturstevo (1398), decatur, Tennessee, USA Dec 8, 2008 Medium brown/ruby red pour with tan head and lace. Medium roasted malt that hints of chocolate. Light to medium hop bitter. Large coffee and roasted malt. Medium bodied a tad thin. Very nice beer. SQNfan (573), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Dec 5, 2008 This poured dark brown/black in color with a moderate light brown head. This had quite nice aromas of chocolate, rich coffee, sweet caramel and vanilla. In the mouth this was medium-bodied and started off powerful then faded to a dry/bitter finish. The midpalate lacked concentration and flavor though this should have been expected given the alcohol level. rcasta (340), El Salvador Nov 27, 2008 esta la compre en portland maine y me la tome en sibar. es una buena stout, un poco menos caramelo y mas hop y esto la hace mas tipo dark ale, mi tipo
