Dark brown to back color with a slight reddish hint against the light. Nice tan head. coffee and roasted, almost smoky malt aroma. Sweet at first, almost a milk chocolate flavor that gives way to more bitter, molasses and defintely the soy flavor Nate mentioned. A very drinkable stout, not to heavy on the tongue or going down, with just the slightest chocolate/candy (yeah, kinda like a tootsie roll) aftertaste.

Pours a rich thick deep burnt umber with a big frothy three finger mocha foam. On the nose its roasted chocolate, lactic earth and a hint of peat. The palate follows the nose nicely with a big rich round mouthfeel. Nice balance of flavors and a lingering roasty earth finish.

22oz bottle from radarsock. Very dark brown color, almost black. Thin brown head, fades to minimal, leaves just a little bit of lace.. Good bitter taste. Lightly sweet finish. Awesome roasty flavor, good dark chocolate, little dark fruit, nice toasty malts, some herbal hops, light smokiness. Medium to bigger body. Good chewy body, but dry texture. Light to moderate carbonation. Indeed, a very impressive stout.

Poured from a small bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a cloudy black color with a slight brown hue, and a very small foamy tan head with short retention, and light-to-average lacing and cling. Its aroma featured roasty malt and caramel, and was a bit smokey too, along with touches of earthy and grainy hops, and lighter tones of coffee and maybe some chocolate. Its taste was somewhat grainy and bitter with a light caramel malt sweetness, and some touches of chocolate and coffee, but was a bit underdeveloped overall. The body was lightly creamy, but a bit watery and wet, with a medium mouthfeel and lower carbonation. Thank you for the beer, Siobhan.

It pours a dark brown and leaves a foamy off white head. Minimal lacing occurs and spider webs apart. The smell is roasty between coffee and chocolate notes. The taste.takes those flavorings to make it sweet. The palate is about a medium to heavy with nothing harsh on the tongue, slightly sof and creamy. Id say its fairly drinkable. Overall, this is a good standard American stout that Iwould gladly come back to.

(Bottle). Black complexion with dissipating tan head with very little lacing. Well roasted malts dominate flavor with elements of black coffee. Could be easy to session in cold months. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from James - thanks! Black pour with a dark tan head fading to a slick of foam. Aroma is dry, somewhat thin chocolate with roast. Taste is roasty chocolate with light sweet malt, coffee, and some minimal hop bitterness. Clean, easy drinking dry stout. Enjoyable.
