Tasted at Stanley’s Beer and Bacon Fest - May 17th, 2014 during Art-A-Whirl in Northeast. Notes were a bit light. VERY GOOD

Fireworks Blueberry Ale is, for lack of a better word, gross. The blueberry flavor is cloying and overly sweet like an adjunct. Actually, the taste is more like blueberry cough syrup. I don’t even think that exists... While the head wasn’t awful, the appearance and aroma didn’t do it for me either. After I sampled this at the local store, the man providing the samples asked "Too tart?" after seeing my face. I didn’t know how to explain that tartness was just one of this brew’s problems.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear light gold with a thin head and bubbles through out the glass, aroma is of musty light blueberries with a little bit of grass, the flavor is light blueberry with a little bit of citrus in the finish, still really meh though, cool name though.

Pours a hazy yellow color with no head. Aroma is artificial blueberry juice. The taste is blueberry and wheat. Ehh kind of gross.

Pours clear gold with white head. The aroma is total blueberry. Had blueberry syrup today on my pancakes at Perkins, this tastes exactly like it. The blueberry is not subtle at all and it completely takes over the beer. Small bit of cereal malt on the back end, and a very tiny hop twang. Has a thick slippery mouthfeel, to syrup like..Not enough beer aspects here.

Bottle sampled in Exira, IA. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Blueberry, juicy flavors. Pretty lame blueberry beer.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV. Thanks Justin! Pours a clear golden orange appearance with a light tan head. Artificial blueberry syrup, toasted malty, sweet, a bit spicy aroma. Sort of minty, herbal, earthy bitter, gross blueberry flavor. Fuck you.

Pours a golden color, the head is nice enough... leaves a bunch of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is pretty much just Ihop blueberry syrup. I doubt that I could tell a difference between the beer & the syrup if I were blindfolded.

The flavor is grainy and lightly tart, not really much of anything going on here, mild blueberry... light tartness... really more grainy than anything. A touch soapy, eh.

c’mon, you’re going to tease a bunch of 22 year old Midwesterners with a big blueberry syrup aroma then not deliver with a blueberry syrup flavor? Get it together!
