COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tucked away at the south end of Sitka’s road system, you’ll find Silver Bay. Abundant marine life and the impressive sheer face of Bear Mountain make it especially photogenic. Soon after the brewery opened, a rough and tumble bunch of girls who work at a fish processing plant on Silver Bay came in for samples and noticed our IPA was not yet named. They recommended Silver Bay IPA then attempted to wipe out our supply. Also rough and tumble, our IPA is hoppy with plenty of flavor. 6% ABV

Malts: two row, wheat, crystal, carapils
Hops: nugget, cascade, CTZ

Draft at GABBF. Hazy golden amber color, scant edge head. Aroma of flowers and grass. OK, maybtasing notes says it tastes like spooge and pineapple, but I’m sure that’s because I had a bit too much to drink. Anyway, I liked the taste very much.

at GAABF 2012. Good aroma, sweet. covers a range of things, pine and grapefruit, expected, green apple, not expected. Cloudy brownish orange color, small head, minor lace. Bitter sweet flavor, light body, smooth mouthfeel, bitter finish. Good, aroma best part with it’s range, flavor was darn bitter, long bitter finish also.

Sampled at the ’12 GABBF. Hazy amber color with a whispy off white head. Slight nose with some candy and hop resin. Oddly fruity IPA with apple, pear, sweet oranges and wet bread. Not what I expect from an IPA.

Clear amber color with ivory foam. Nice ganja bud, caramel, pine aromas. medium bodied. Mild spicy hop, grainy caramel flavors, lightly bitter finish--not bad.
