UPDATED: JAN 29, 2007 Bottled, thanks Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Very dark brown, small creamy head. Chocolatey and very roasty. Mildly malty with light notes of toffee. The chocolate combines nicely with some spicy hops. Finishes with a fair amount of salty bitterness. Tasty and well balanced.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Sweetish malty slightly roasted flavor with some hints of caramel and chocolate. Dry roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Bottle from the brewery. A very safe beer from a brewery which doesn’t take risks. Sweet (as are all their beers) and grainy with liquorice and lots of treacle then a short dry caramel finish. Hints of unfermented wort. Not bad, but there are many better beers in Argentina.

Appearance: very dark. Little head, beige color without persistence. Aroma: malty, candy and sweet toasty. Reminiscences of sweet chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Something liquory. Flavor: Intensive toasty, smoked touch; notes of coffee and bitter chocolate. Finish with bitterness of toast and a few of hops; metallic and smoked sensation. Palate: Medium body with semi-oily texture. Medium carbonation. I agree with others ratebeers, this beer is not a dunkel, I classify it like a porter. Advisable.

mahogany black body with a reddish bottom. Small, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, of coffee, burnt sugar, some chocolate and toasted grains. Flavor matches the aroma and adds a bitter-sour end.

Pours a hazy dark brown color. It looks pretty much like a coca cola in every glass except Per’s one. He got all the head. It seems it was in the bottom of the bottle xD Aroma is malty with a good presence of chocolate, caramel and burnt aromas. If this beer is a Dunkel then I’m The Pope. It’s a Stout, or maybe a Porter. Flavor is sweet with a soft ending burnt bitterness. There are notes of chocolate, prunes and intense coffee roastiness. Body is medium, like the carbonation. Texture is oily and the finish is good and sticky. The best Argentinian brew we had in the tasting with Per.

Bought in Mendoza, Argentina

Bottle - May 2006 Pours a black colour with a brownish head. Aroma is very neutral, with some sublte notes of coffee. Taste is of coffee and a bit cocoa and tobacco, aftertaste being slightly fruit. A regular stout, nor bad, nor remarkable.

Imbibed December 02. Chocolate and malt aroma with a light yeastiness. A dark, root beer color with a light brown medium thickness head that quickly disappeared. Roasted malt flavor with some chocolate. Very light hop aftertaste. Fizzy on the tongue.
