charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Mar 14, 2008 Pours nicely with a golden body and frothy white head. Aroma is of honey, of course, and indistinct spices. Spicy taste with some light fruit (mostly banana) and a slightly sweet finish. A new favorite. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear, golden body, with a nice, off-white head. Nice lacings. Very citrusy nose with some spices and butterscotch, but very weak on the latter two. Some warming alcohol in the flavor gets more present in the finish, and there’s also a nice bitterness towards the finish. In addition there’s pale malt, sweetness (from the honey?), spices and a touch of caramel. There’s not much honey to be detected. Full body. Quite easy to drink, but not an all-nighter, there’s too much alcohol evident for that. (080312) yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 9, 2008 ZBF2008: From tap. Pours clear and yellow with a dense white head. Light herbal/butterish aroma. Flavour is mild sweetend and with a light herbal touch. I don’t really sense honey here but guess it is in the herbal notes and the sweetness. Ends mild spiced and caramel malt lingering. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Feb 29, 2008 Bottle, 8%. Perfumy, flowery aroma. Seemingly clear amber colour. Small white head. The flavour is a little sweet with flower and soap notes which might come from hops. Gets a little plasticky. Slightly rough bitterness. sfhc21 (74), Midlothian, Texas, USA Feb 25, 2008 Bottle. A nice sweet honey aroma. A bit of banana and light candy. A nice beer. baronvonotocon (6), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Feb 22, 2008 A light vanilla, caramel, Aroma coupled with astrong trapist taste gives babrar a nice overall appeal. a littel tough on the pallet going down but fully worth it. Highly recomend to anyone looking for good leser known belgiun bee.r kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Feb 20, 2008 Pours a light cloudy orange color. Smells sweet like wheat and spice. Has a good honey flavor and is very malty, but not overly strong. Medium/light lacing on the glass. A little bite comes out inthe finish. No alcohol taste for 8%. Nice. jherrman (1), 9000 Gent, Belgium does not count Feb 10, 2008 this is, together with westmalle trippel (if I’m having bitter day:)) my absolute favorite beer. The strong taste, followed by spicy and honey aroma’s, ending in a bitter/sweet finish is like a feast in my mouth. I also like the appearance when it’s served in it’s original matte-glas glass
