Strong cereal and honey aromas. Strong in mouth, sweet and sour at the same time. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2005 Bottle (330ml). At Volo. Poured hazy yellow with a big foamy white head. Aroma of honey and grain, esters and banana candy malt. Taste of honey, spices, sugary malt and vague hops - very clean, a generic belgian witbier aroma hovering around in there. Mouthfeel sweet and sticky with an average body. Overall quite nice and quaffable, perhaps too sweet but better than any Canadian honey brew I’ve ever had. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 27, 2005 Golden colour with a fast-diminishing white head. Spicy honey aroma, a bit too sweet. Taste was orangey and sour but rather thin. Not much bitterness. MoritzF (4859), Bochum, Germany Oct 17, 2005 (bottle) Clear golden colour with a big and firm foamy off-white head. Sweet wheatmalty aroma with honey (!), ripe fruits and a light spicy note. Sweet malty flavour and taste, slightly toasted, fruity (citrus, mango), soft mouthfeel, alcohol well integrated, medium dry, soft bitter and fruity finish. Good ! MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Oct 16, 2005 Bottle at the Alex P Keaton, in London, Ontario. CLoudy, hazy yellow with frothy white heady goodness. Aromas are minty, cloves, honey, and alcohol. FLavours consist of bananas, honey, some breay and alcohol flavours as well. CLoyingly sweet finish though. Gains some complexity as it warms. If there were an imperial witbier, this would be one IMO. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Oct 16, 2005 Golden with a wonerdful creamy lasting white head. Very nice fruity aroma, honey of course, toffee, some peach and some syrup. Quite strong flavor, some sweet fruits and syrup. Rather sweet. Dorqui (1353), Brescia, Italy Oct 15, 2005 Compact and creamy foam, good persistence. Yellow golden color, amber reflex, not much bubbly. Lightly torbid and much loads. Intense alcohol and malty scent, light honey and sugar string. Warm and powerful taste, solid and with overbearing notes of caramel and sugar. Long and little bitter end. blankboy (3163), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 19, 2005 Bottle at Ciro’s. Pours a clear sparkling gold with a huge frothy white head -- it looked like an ice cream float! Nice aroma of honey -- not too much, just right -- along with some malt. The flavour doesn’t have as much honey as you’d think, there’s just a touch, along with some citrus, light hops and spices. I found the flavour a little on the dull side, it needs a little more "oomph" or "je ne sais quoi". A pleasant if unspectacular beer.
