Hazy orange colour with a medium white head. Sweet spicy honey aroma and taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

Thin greyish head on a hazy dark orange body. Rather unbalanced aroma. Notes of yeast, hay, marzipan and banana. Sweet yeasty flavor with fruit notes. Quite sticky and artificial. Not a beer for me!

BB2004 bottle, originally from regional w&s in wellington, then aged in my maggot-infested cellar for a year and a bit. i hadnt had this beer since 2000 but i remember loving it then so i dont know how or if it improved with the age, but it was certainly smooth with the best of em. i was blown away by the aroma - huge fragrant smells of flowers, herbs, honey, touch of freshbaked bread, and plenty of doughy, peachy westmalle type yeast. in the mouth it’s amazingly smooth, round, oily, perfumey and light, and dry but not too dry. there’s quite a bit of pilsener malt too. slightly phenolic and peppery in the finish, with some peachy yeast-fruit. very nice indeed, this one pissed it in in the honey-beer showdown with st moron and castulus and my homebrew orangeblossom special.

Hazy golden coloured beer. Cool mug :-) OK Nose, but this beer isn’t my thing at all. Tasted malty, chemical, dry and was overcarbonated. Could hardly notice honey at all.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium diminishing white head. Aroma of honey and spices. Flavor of honey and spices, maybe a bit yeasty too, mild bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Hmm, it’s somewhat interesting but not great.

A medium golden color with a small white head. Very active bubblesthat leave a thick wall of lacing in the glass. Sweet and yeasty, must be the yeast, you can tell it’s a Belgian by the smell. WOW, sweet is an understatement, once your taste buds get used to the initial sweetness the yeasts and some spices are evident. Initially a system shock with the load of honey but this settles down into a wonderful brew.
